Crafting for Dummies

Hey guys,

there are so many guides still I cannot find the light at the end of this crafting tunnel.

Can someone please explain me on this item:

Why can't I add the enchant for +XXX% physical damage? I have seen a lot of weapons that have 2 +XXX% physical damage mods.
I got this mod through harvest crafting.

And basically: How to craft OP gear. Appreciate any really helpful guides / youtube-videos. Until now I just got basic blabla stuff.

Have a nice weekend guys!

That looks like it already has 3 pre- and 3 suffixes, so you won't be able to add w/o first removing something.

You cannot have two of the same mod group. Although double mods count as different groups. So you could add % increased phys with +# to accuracy on top of a straight % increased phys. (but only if you had an available prefix.)

Crafting is complex and changes every league in some ways. There is no single "watch this 30 minute video and you'll be an expert crafter" guide.

That's what I thought. But could you please explain this then:

Rarity: Rare
Glyph Etcher
Vaal Axe
--------
Two Hand Axe
Physical Damage: 413-736
Critical Strike Chance: 5.00%
Attacks per Second: 1.4
Weapon Range: 13
--------
Quality: +26%
--------
Requirements:
Level: 64
Str: Strength: 158
Dex: Dexterity: 76
--------
Sockets: R-R-G-R-G-R
--------
Item Level: 86
--------
25% chance to Maim on Hit
--------
74% increased Physical Damage
Adds 25 to 56 Physical Damage
22% increased Attack Speed
15% increased Global Accuracy Rating
+32% to Lightning Resistance
+161 to Accuracy Rating
10% increased Light Radius
120% increased Physical Damage
--------
Crusader Item
There are only six mods on that, not counting the implicit.

Global accuracy and light radius are one mod.

The 74% incr phys and +161 accu are also one mod.

If you saw that axe in game, the 74% and 120% would be added together to show 194% increased phys. (You'd see them separated if using the advanced item view.)

To better understand mod details, I recommend looking at sites like poedb.tw or craftofexile.

This is guide you are looking for. Read about suffix and prefix.

If you want more detailed information about armor/weapon/anything mods go to poedb.

Thanks, this helped! 120% is from crafting bench, right? Where does the 74% + 161 accu come from? Is this a veiled mod?
no, the 74 + accuracy is a 'hybrid' mod.

you can see it also on my axe here. it has

%phys + accuracy - prefix
flat phys - prefix
lightning resist - suffix
multimod - suffix
120% phys - prefix
attack speed + quality - suffix

so it LOOKS like it has 8 mods, but it really only has 6, because some of them are doubles.
Make sure you have 'Advanced Mod Descriptions" checked in your options. After that if you hold the alt key and mouse over the item, it will show you the prefixes and suffixes. It will be easier to see the hybrid or double mods too.

great, thanks for the hint. How do I get this hybrid mod to a weapon? Is it just rolled like all other mods? Can it be crafted in harvest?

Normally it's done using the alt/regal/scour method. Now that that we have Harvest you should be able to eliminate the regals, though I've not done a lot of Harvest crafting as it bores the holy hell out of me.
