Harvest for non crafters

Well Harvest for non-crafters sucks bad but it is supposed to be a craft league so...

Isn't the entire game becoming a crafting game though? I want to get my gear from killing stuff and looting but the game is getting further away from that with each league.

The only exciting loot that drops is currency to buy/craft the item you want or a good crafting base that you have to spend time crafting before it's any use.

Why can't some of these epic crafted items I keep seeing on Reddit actually have a chance to drop as loot from kills without needing any crafting?

But they do, thats what unid rares are. It would be idiotic to want dropped items to reliably be as good as crafted ones, as then there would be literally no reason to invest time and resources into items when you can just drop them. Crafting is for increasing your chances that an item is good. Sure, you can't drop a double influenced base, but you can get 90% of the power theoretically from a dropped item, it's just balanced to be unlikely enough that crafting is worth doing.
There's no powercreep here. Creep implies it's slow and could be overlooked, this is a full out sprint.

That is the point I was making.

PoE is not a loot game, it's a crafting game. If you rely on just drops alone and never craft anything, your gear will probably suck.

I think the item system is now leaning too heavily towards crafting and the loot hunt aspect is not much fun anymore.

Considering the vast majority of players never actually craft an item (slapping life or res on from the crafting bench obviously does not count) that statement is just false. This is the first league where crafting is actually a viable alternative for gear progression to looting and trading, before being entirely geared already and having hundreds of exalts to throw at metacrafting and awakener orb projects.

Well, I still stand by the point I was trying to make.

You very, very rarely loot a piece of gear from a drop and just wear it. Gear is either bought via trade or crafted before being used.

So perhaps I have should have said that PoE is not a loot game, it's a trading/crafting game.

After playing lots of other arpg's over the lockdown I realised that I don't get the same feeling in PoE when loot drops. The vast majority of loot is junk or some currency you might sell to buy what you need or use to craft.
