Better thing I did. Harvesting 7x7x7 in a high IIQ map = delicious

That doesn't have nearly enough storage for the amount of plots, the person that called it efficient is mistaken.

Now the sky is the limit. Craft a life mod from bench:

Next time you get a "Remove a life mod and add a life modifier" use it, it will replace the bench mod for a "normal" one...

Just going to pick on you to show the OP that it really isn't this simple. In this example possible outcomes would be:
- flat life regen (7000 weight) suffix
- % life regen (1000 weight) warlord suffix
- life/defenses hybrid (4000 weight) prefix
- and finally flat life (9000 weight) prefix

Of these you are likely aiming for rotund (t3) or better of the life rolls with a 3000 in 21000 chance or 14% chance.

But it didn't have to be that way! If you fill the suffix slots first with resistances - namely chaos/cold/light resistances - you'd remove the life regen rolls from the potential pool. This ups your odds of hitting the desired mod from 14% to 19% but also means you won't need to waste multiple rare crafts to fix an accidently added mod.

The key to this is knowing your gem tags. You can see them at https://poedb.tw/us/mod.php?cn=Boots&an=str_dex_armour (thats for boots, but just navigate to the item you are trying to craft) then make a plan on how to maximize rolling the mod you want. In some cases - for example "physical damage taken as element" on a body armor you can actually guarantee the chosen mod by crafting all suffixes or prefixes ahead of time.

Research -> plan -> then craft. Making incredible items this league is quite doable but you gotta be methodical about it.

Get to tier 8 maps, than just sell the seeds. Buy the gear that people who do enjoy crafting make. :)

That used to be me (cept there weren't seeds). Cause i hated "crafting" ie gambling on longshots. But once you get the hang of the harvest crafting it's so very satisfying to make an item or two better than you ever thought you could get.

It's just space efficient. For life force storage I agree, sometimes I waste like 10k life force because I miss storages. But not all the high seed crafts are that usefull so no problem.

No problem, we all like to learn, me included :)

I forgot that part of blocking life sufix with resistences, that was my fault.

So are there any suggestions from non-crafters how to enjoy the league and get some currency to push the build, without getting deep into crafting?

... some feedback as to how you don't have to get deep into crafting to use Harvest ...

... then some links to crazy garden layouts ...

In other words, no. You're gonna need to get deep into whatever we're calling "crafting" these days.

Naw it used to be you needed multiple exalts to even make an attempt (and many times that to smooth out your rng and turn a profit) and getting to the point of successful crafter was practically a 2nd job.

Now it's like cooking. Sure you might not be up to making a souffle, but something stir-fry easy is very accessable. And stir-fry easy crafts are items that'd go for 10+ex in previous leagues.

Take my body armor for instance:

Starting from an alt-spammed endurance charge on hit affix that can be deterministically crafted, like following a recipe from a cook book. Took me about 12-14 hours of mapping to find the seeds to do it - relative to the quality I'd say a damn minor investment.

(If you are interested in the "recipe" i posted it here https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-post/23354816 and I've seen other step by steps posted too, mostly on reddit)

I get what you're saying, Gravedancer. It has never been cheaper or easier to craft good gear. But that doesn't mean it's cheap or easy.

In fact, everything you describe, to me, definitely qualifies as "getting deep into crafting". The fact that you had to concoct a 12-step "recipe" and 12-14 hours of grinding to fulfill it (not to mention the garden set-up itself) is, well, way deeper than this "non-crafter" would ever want to go.

So yes, better items are more accessible than ever before. But to answer the OP's question... No. There is no "Harvest for non-crafters". You need to buy-in deep to the Harvest crafting system to take advantage of it.

Thanks for your assessment. I actually arrived to the same conclusion. It is a bit of a pity, that GGG found no way to make it fun for the "non-crafters". If there were an easy way to just sell all the seeds for decent currency, we could just do that, the crafters could use them and we could buy from them. Everybody would be happy.

Then again it is summer time and my girlfriend will be super happy to learn, that I didn't find the current league appealing enough. :D
