Harvest for non crafters
I started playing PoE last summer. Had a blast in Metamorph and Delirium, did my first decent builds, got some currency.
I started a weak late into Harvest due to a vacation and feel a little lost. If you look at the market and follow the forum you can easily see that crafting was revolutionized. I never bothered about crafting much. Now it feels like the market is overflowing with incredible rares, but the league mechanic doesn't generate the immediate currency through drops that Delirium and Metamorph did. So are there any suggestions from non-crafters how to enjoy the league and get some currency to push the build, without getting deep into crafting? Last bumped on Jul 12, 2020, 4:55:12 AM

" You don't need to go deep into crafting. You can create very good items by just simple craft using harvest and bench. Example: Get a good base white item, say a lvl 84 Warlord boots. Use alts to get a mod you desire. Regal and annul if needed. Now the sky is the limit. Craft a life mod from bench: Next time you get a "Remove a life mod and add a life modifier" use it, it will replace the bench mod for a "normal" one, then you go for bench and craft a fire resist for example. Nex time you get a "Remove a fore modofier and add a fire modifier" repeat the process and so on. These are WIP using this method. Takes a little time and patience, but very doable. No, I don't fully understand PoE craft, metacrafts, mod tags, etc. Just some basic info I found here in these foruns. "There's no thing like random one-shots in this game. You only die because you take 353,456,237 hits in 0.2 seconds."

Thanks a lot. This is actually really, really helpful.
So I can "move" the crafted life to a "fix" prefix? |

" Yes!! It's a rare craft you are looking for: "Remove a life modifier and add a life modifier", comes from vivid weta. Since the crafted life is the only life modifier you have it will be replaced. Keep replacing untill you hit a T1 life. ![]() "There's no thing like random one-shots in this game. You only die because you take 353,456,237 hits in 0.2 seconds."

You can also change the resistance if you need to, which is another huge benefit. Let's say you get that ring right where you want it, but then you need to upgrade your boots and the otherwise-perfect new boots have fire when you need cold to replace the cold on your outgoing boots. You can grow some "change resistance" seeds and convert one of those fire resist mods (either on the ring or the boots) to cold. (They convert at the same tier, but randomize the roll within the tier.)
You will spend about an hour watching a video or two on Harvest mechanics. Then you can start playing around with t1 seeds to get some t2 seeds to work with and to craft some hardware to expand your garden. Then, when you have the hardware, you'll probably spend another hour building a garden that can grow t2 and t3 seeds. It's a fairly modest time investment for some major flexibility in crafting techniques that anyone can do without currency. |

There's chances to trade currency at extremely good ratios too. It's really easy to 5L something too. Stuff that's not really "crafting". You can also use the choices to create rares to modify maps = Free Alch/Chaos.

" I actually copied this Garden Layout: ![]() Got 3 Horticrafting Stations now. Only annoying thing is auto plant only seems to plant T1 seeds. My other problem is, I am lacking currency. Have only seen a single ex so far in the league. My build was a decent league starter but I am really struggling to push past A5, don't see myself doing really well with Sirus either. But that's on my trying to push a meme build. :) Thanks for all the input. Much appreciated. Last edited by Shafirion#6638 on Jul 8, 2020, 4:36:04 PM

" I actually did this one: https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/hdd9zs/995_space_efficient_gardening_setup_all_tiers/ Better thing I did. Harvesting 7x7x7 in a high IIQ map = delicious "There's no thing like random one-shots in this game. You only die because you take 353,456,237 hits in 0.2 seconds."

The layout with collectors in the corners is kinda bad IMO.
I switched to this one https://iw.gy/XDgEWv and put storage tanks in the corners instead - it's much convenient as the collectors are all grouped up, no need to run around. And this is THE league to learn about crafting, poedb is your friend for checking the mod tags - the whole attak/phys/defense/caster is a bit confusing.
