What kind of builds would be awesome if only they had good itemisation?

Puncture on a ridiculously high damage bow with dismal attack speed. I'd even go so far as to make it have double the PHYDMG of a Lioneye's Glare, no sockets, penalty to eledam and a huge Knockback. Maybe something like;

x~600 Physical Damage
0.8 Attacks Per Second
No Sockets
x% Increased Physical Damage
85% Less(or Reduced) Elemental Damage
+200% Knockback Distance
Hits have a 50% chance to Knockback the target
Arrows always Pierce


I look at the skill and it just begs to be used when paired with a high damaging weapon, vulnerability and totem support+flee.


..need to think of more drawbacks that prevents it from being the go-to item like Marohi Erqi and Lioneye's Glare. Removing the sockets prevents it from being used in tandem with Kaom's Heart. Reducing the eledam prevents abusing Added Fire Damage and other forms of conversion mechanics.

we definitely need more interesting double edged swords, so to speak.

Six socket 2 hander with built in splash, and is always 6 linked. However, it cuts your mana to 0, requiring blood magic gems, or blood magic build. or something, probably better than that, but you know.

Any build that uses 9 endurance charges would likely appreciate being able to use less than a full hotbar full of different enduring cry gems.

A unique shield for Shield Charge builds could be neat. Also, something to help keep endurance charges up would make it less tedious to attempt to be safe in melee. Generally I feel like there's a lot of elemental builds in use, and not much pure physical, so maybe something along those lines as well.

I'd also really like to see a couple random gems, like jewels in D3.
Gems that can roll buffs to equipment, equipment stats, or the skill it's linked to.

Say, for example, they are white with random decorations, and can add 1-15aspd to any linked skill. Can add 1-15% bonus to any stat bonuses present on the armor they are placed into. adds +20-80HP. Adds X ammount more crit chance, or crit mult.

They would basically be like little items that would let you have completely unique gems to replace others. And they'd be SUPER fun to identify. they don't have to be crazy OP, but having something we can slap in besides the standard gems would be so much fun, I think.

If these were craftable, too, like.... rare gems, essentially.... that'd be awesome.

This would be crazy but also really cool. So long as the bonuses were very minor I think it could make for some interesting builds that don't use many linked skills but focus on base stats.

I've been thinking of a build with that converts a lot of physical damage into Chaos using Poison Arrow and Darkscorn, in combination with the Culling Strike support gem. The idea is that, even against energy shield enemies, I get them down to 10% rather directly. It doesn't quite have enough support though, so a unique armour piece that converts physical damage to chaos would be really awesome.

Speaking of Darkscorn, one really cool interaction that bow has is with Acrobatics or full-evasion builds. Because they don't have any physical damage mitigation, converting incoming physical damage to another element is better in those builds than it normally is, because it allows resists to do the job. There's also Cloak of Flames, but that doesn't provide evasion at all... in any case, it might be cool to have more items that do that. You could create an interesting dynamic by converting a LOT of physical damage to another damage type, but lowering the max resistance for that damage type. Some resistance is better than none, so it would still help those builds with physical damage, but against things that actually do that damage type, things would get harder.

I really liked the design of Aegis Aurora. A non-shield that, say, gains you life based on your armour every time you evade would be pretty cool, and might open up some interesting builds for armour/eva hybrid.

Lightning Warp on Spell Totem continually draws in some lulz, and I think some people actually try it because they want "totem minions." Why not let them? "Your Totem skills instead create an undead mage with the totem's abilities" seems like a fine ability, perhaps with the drawback of "Your Totem skills require a corpse."

An item that applies the Shavronne's Wrappings mod to your enemies in addition to lowering their maximum chaos resistance -- even through immunity -- allowing chaos-heavy builds to actually do damage to CI in PvP (without insta-killing them).
