Long Read: How not a single ARPG innovated Loot Systems since Diablo 2.
" This thread is about innovation in ARPG or better why innovation doesn´t happen at all in videogame´s. Every Arpg on the market is the complete same experience only with view variation´s. They even outright copy features. And to top it all off, they all fall in the same pitholes including path of exile. After jear´s of rpg playing, like WoW, DnD, ARPG´s i feel nothing about loot. But what i do feel is annoyence and repetition. It´s just a item with stat´s which are supposed to be good. The absolut best thing Path of exile could do, is to remove random loot completly and monster´s only drop currency which are also auto-looted. We are long overdue with mindbending and painfull activity´s. I get stupor from repeated looting and identifying then vendor or trade trash item´s. Logic and Reason is the best thing a game can do to be played ""Forever"". |
