Every single league.

First week is: "This league sucks, loot sucks, it's boring, there's only half the people playing as when it started, DOOOOM!"

Second week after people actually figure out the mechanics: "This league is OP, too much loot is ruining the game, the economy is screwed, DOOOOM!"

Ur delusional if u think that's the case. Most of us wich aren't playing, aren't playing because of the core mechanics of the league. I don't sit down to play an arpg to manage a freaking garden, if that was the case i'd put on farmville or some other shit, what they did here is a joke.

don't think this is a problem, doubling card is ok since the seed must be ultra rare (yes?).

what is a problem is the league has tanked hard and just started 10 days ago. the number of hours played has already crashed to 1/2 from the first day of league and continue on a downward trend every day. of the hours played, what percentage is it from standard players and worse, bots in general? very bad. very concerning.

fixing the league should be GGG's lowest priority. any changes to improve it won't make any difference and will not bring players back or improved revenue imho. what is done is done. GGG needs to focus on due diligence and a fresh team to assess design choices.

the basic concept of gardening in an arpg is not something one would consider...conventional. crafting is a tool. role playing and killing monsters is core. GGG have you gone completely insane?

Exactly.

The other thing I have personally noticed, is that with each new league, yeah, we get some new modifiers for yellows at some and so on. But, the end-all be-all weapons havent changed.

Starforge, Voidforge are still titans among all of the other 2h weapons.

Death's Opus and Windripper are still OP af against a majority of the other bows.

They may introduce a new mechanic and a couple of things here and there. But the itemization isnt changing enough to make the game change over-all. Even with new league mechanics, its still the same stale boring shit its always been. Then after the league is over, that stale boring shit gets crammed into standard, and more stale boring shit comes out.

That's fine, you can think whatever you want about the league, you are in the small minority though. Anyone can check the player numbers on steam and see there is only a marginal difference in player retention between last league and this league. It's more likely that's caused by lockdowns ending and people being allowed to go out and do things during the summer, as opposed to a few people refusing to play a league out of misguided principle and hyperbole.
duping items isnt new u know ? the +1 spectre 6 link astral plate etc got sure duped over 200 times

It does because I know how to read it and I understand how the site works. Steamcharts doesn't keep track of daily numbers over long periods of time, anything further back is going to look like a smoother curve than more recent data because it's just a more general average.

https://steamdb.info/app/238960/graphs/

Use that instead for more detailed numbers.

Delirium started at 133k, 9 days later on the following Sunday it hit 99k.
Harvest started at 126k, 9 days later on the following Sunday it hit 80k.

There's definitely a drop there, but again there are other circumstances that certainly factor into it to some degree. The game still hit 80k players yesterday, that is far from bad, that is far from "most players" walking away.

"Circumstances." Aka jump through hoops to explain the most obvious answer; the league just isn't very good.

I mean if we are going to start getting into hypothetical circumstances, I could just say the population left is a large portion of bots. Theres probably more proof to that statement than any lockdown/covid statement.

When the real truth is this is a very weak league.

You don't seem to get it. Assuming 100% of the drop in players is related to not enjoying the league mechanic, that means about 10% of the playerbase was unhappy enough to stop playing. Like I said, marginal. We could go into detail and try to break down that 10% difference, like by looking at leagues at the same time in previous years, but it really doesn't matter because the numbers are so small.
