Umm GGG there's a problem - New Ungil's Harmony

"
Ungil's Harmony: Now grants 250-350% increased Global Critical Strike Chance (from 100%). Now causes your Critical Strikes to deal no extra Damage (previously granted -25% to Critical Strike Multiplier). Existing items can be updated to the new values with a Divine Orb.

- Old crit value but new anti multiplier mod? Umm no thank you. I'll gladly stick to the - 25% multiplier.

That was pretty slick mistake to have happened =.= So we're able to use divines on corrupted items now? ……….

Nah, guess not. Shoots that theory out the window.

"

Warped Timepiece: Now grants 10-15% increased Attack Speed (from 8-12%), 10-15% increased Cast Speed (from 8-12%), 10-15% increased Movement Speed (from 12%), 10-15% reduced Skill Effect Duration (from 8-12%) and 30% increased total Recovery per second from Leech (rather than Life Leech and Mana Leech specifically). Existing versions can be updated to new values (but not the new Leech modifier) with a Divine Orb.

Funny how that mistake happened on items like that instead of items that WOULD be welcomed.....for example

New 20 sec Soul Eater mod?
- Nah

New defense mod rolls?
Nah
"
Shadowstitch now has 250 to 350% increased Defences. Existing items are unaffected. Sorry!
(3.10 delirium patch notes)

New AoE roll?
- Nahhh
"
Now grants 40-50% (up from 20%) increased Area of Effect. Existing versions can be updated to these new values with a Divine Orb.
(from 3.5 patch notes)

See where I'm going with this? Will this be corrected on the Ungil's?

If I recall correctly, items can only be updated to new values if the rolls that got changed are still the same mod so to speak. Retroactive changes to items only happen if a mod gets replaced by an entirely new one. The reason they don't retroactively apply those is because they don't want to force numerical nerfs on legacy items. Which is why stuff like legacy bringer of rain or kaom's heart (1000 life instead of 500) are a thing.

Ungil's: from "-25% to crit multi" to "your crit multi is 100%". Completely new mod. Crit chance roll range got changed, can be updated.

Warped timepiece: Roll range got changed, can be updated.

Zerphi's: Mod value got increased (roll range effectively changed from 10-10 to 20-20), can be updated.

Shadowstitch: Entirely new mod got added. This is never done retroactively, since the added mod could in theory have a negative effect on the item's performance.

Carcass: Again, mod value got increased. Can be updated.
I make dumb builds, therefore I am.
I wish they'd leave Legacy item completely unchanged BUT provide a vendor recipe to update ANY Legacy (even corrupted one) item to the newest version with respect to sockets, links, enchants and numeric rolls (i.e. 1000% Facebreaker should become 800% Facebreaker).

This is not hard to implement. They have all the old mods anyway including old corrupted implicit. So there should be no problem to map old and new ones.

And if we want to tick all the boxes, the recipe can do the following:
Unique Item + Divine Orb + Orb of Regret = next iteration of Unique item.

The current approach seems half-assed.
People who want a piece of PoE history have their items changed.
People who want updated balance in Standard have no choice but to buy/farm a new one which can be very challenging for lucky SSF finds.
Beware of the man who works hard to learn something, learns it, and finds himself no wiser than before. He is full of murderous resentment of people who are ignorant without having come by their ignorance the hard way.

Hmmm... But if this is all a PoE discussion about "legacy" items and all legacy items are sitting in Standard stash and if most players don't ever play Standard league (it's challenge leagues only) then what's the point of this discussion?
"You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."
Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration.

If you have edited POE wiki before (or press Alt), you will notice there are separate mod.

Just like kaom hp and fire damage are two mods. Divine orb never has an ability to add mod

Not sure why this is a problem unless you play standard.

Hmmmm.... indeed!

That said, I like Sarganis87's suggestion, if there's a way to implement it so it's idiot-proof and low-maintenance from both the dev end and the user end.

Maybe a magic crafting bench option that waves a little bit of the High Templar's handwaving mojo over the item so it can be fully updated while corrupted. You can reroll it for as many divines as you own + some additional one-time currency that adds/updates the mods that can't be divined on/off. A vaal + a regret might work.

Still no word on this bug? Btw can this thread be moved to bug section? ALL ungil's ammys were changed with the no multiplier mod; instead of just the new ones that drop. Existing versions were changed when they weren't supposed to.

It just stealth nerf to all version. but not a bug.

They also have these affect all version nerf before, like Zephi's flask
