Fist of War + Action Speed

Does faster action speed make the boosted slams come faster when using fist of war ?

Action speed is, as far as I know, movement speed, cast speed (traps, mines and totems included) and attack speed. So no, I don't think it will.

Cooldown reduction, on the other hand, might work.
Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

something at least, as is the thing is a noob trap, it forces you to spam 3 warcry then hit something once, then run away wait 2 seconds hit again, spam your warcry again then jump in again.... garbage gem
the effect is nice, feels like a big smash but I think its a dps loss over gems like pulverise/close combat,etc.

You generally don't have to hit things "again." Especially if you are 10-12 linking your slams (5-6 link slam plus 5-6 link Infernal Cry exert).

Against a map boss you don't have to run away or "wait," that would be dumb and a huge DPS loss. You can just keep spamming the slam and every 2-3 will be boosted by 150% more damage, making it effectively a 50-75% more damage gem with all that extra AoE as a bonus. If you are attacking more than twice per second with a 2h slam then you went way too heavy on attack speed.

It's an amazingly satisfying support gem if used right.

I doubt anything other than gem level effects the proc timer, but I haven't tried or looked into it yet.

i'd be very surprised if CDR didn't make it come back up faster but I think fist of war is the opposite of a noob trap, its a gem that looks bad to noobs because they don't think in practical scenarios :p

bad if you've got 6aps though obviously

well yeah the faster you attack the worst it is.


But in the end no matter what, you are better with Pulverise than this gem...

Fist of War should be like lvl 4-8 requirement, good for leveling and melee is slow and clunky as fuck.

Use both. Pulverize is only 35% more DPS though (59% more damage, 15% less speed), Fist of War like I said is generally going to be 50-75% more DPS depending on attack speed, but still better than Pulverize if you attack 4 times between procs as 149/4 is 37% more DPS.

Yeah - its a HUGE dps loss in sustained attack situation with remotely decent APS. But if you are slow enough it can be nice for hit and run...

If we assume it triggers 1 in 5 hits 649/500 = 1.298 or a 30%* more multiplier over time. But - if you are hammering out 2 seconds of attacks then evading it can be near double that DPS boost as you get a time zero attack and a time 1.8 attack, so with the right cadence to combat it could be pretty good.

*1 trigger in 5 hits is approx 2.7 APS, which personally i think is painfully slow. But its about as fast as you can get with this support if you are hoping to gain dps.
