It'll be easy to stack penance to 20/20 with trickster or necromancer. The key will be adjusting the duration to the shortest possible length while still capping the 20/20.
And no I haven't done the math to find the duration/stack point. Think of a spellslinger necromancer with penance. No wonder they capped the AS/CS to 200%. And trickster Archmage/Crit. Does anyone know if 2 penance brand (attached to a boss for example) will stack energy together? Or do they both have different counters? (for ignite builds)

Energy is per mob.
So two penances on a mob will stack energy twice as fast. The first penance to "explode" will use up all the energy on the mob, and the second one will then start from zero putting new energy on the mob. That's why, for ignites, you only need to get to 10 stacks for clearing, and then put two penances on bosses for 20 energy ignites. | |

There's no powercreep here. Creep implies it's slow and could be overlooked, this is a full out sprint.

" Actually for getting one giant ignite penance crushes divine ire in a landslide - as long as you can get close to 20 energy. Also you wouldn't have to stand around channeling with it. Penance brand deals 69% more damage comparing a max ailment vs max ailment. Not to mention 86% more benefit from added damage and the ability to use archmage if you are so inclined. |

" You're right, I was looking at the wrong part of its tooltip. Divine ire ignite already is crazy, I'm sure this brand will be more than enough damage for any single target, so the only question is its mechanical ease of use. There's no powercreep here.
