❗❌❗ To strong Veritania and Ghost Shroud improvement

I thought I was going insane or something, so her tornadoes really are hitting harder this league, eh? I usually had no trouble with her on Delirium, but this league melee against her is extremely dangerous with those tornadoes.

Once I was hit from 7000 es to ~500 in a second by her skills in a lvl 70 map(cannot confirm skill since I used Vaal Skeletons :). I had 75 cold res and 25% elemental damage taken as chaos with CI(=25% less cold damage taken), while she had an enfeeble curse on with 50% increased effect(=22.5% less damage dealt). This was one of the most astonishing moments in my poe times and I remember last season she could not even 1-shot my RF chieftain with 8000 life in close range in a lvl 83 map(and he might recover in ~3 sec).
Two-handed - Mop
Dual Wield - Slippers One-handed & Shield (close combat) - Brush & Basin One-handed & Shield (ranged) - Hair Dryer & Mirror Main-hand & Off-hand (evil witch) - Sponge & Soap |

" Veritas kill me 1 shot with 90 cold resist and 6k es ^^; This league is obviously buffed because I cant remember when Veritas is so strong. Now she is strong + irritating. Thank you GGG |

all of her skill are easily manually dodgeable.
ofc if you're expecting to facetank conquerors, prepare to spend more than dozens ex. Only the storm like the crab king is annoying af. Need more frontal assets and backal assets armor!

Be sure to get freeze immunity before fighting her, and listen for her voice cues to dodge the nasty moves.

As some have said, she has an audio queue on her indeed-overstatted Tornado attack. I'd say, every boss has at least one 1-shot mechanic, and that ability is hers.
It sucks that melee have to stop DPS'ing to respect all sorts of mechanics while ranged builds, especially "fire & forget" builds, get to dance around all the time and not worry about most things. But that's what happens when there is no built-in benefit to playing melee in the first place. That's just PoE, I suppose. Before I got the flow of the Conqs, I found Veritania to be the hardest, and the others to be easy mode. However, this was lower tier Conqs. That's when I could basically be Ok with the heavy hits from the others, while Veritania's would still 1-shot me despite being a low tier encounter. Now, with the... MID tier encounters (not even high), I find Veritania to be the easiest simply because I'm on top of her "phases". Drox is probably next, because a laggy fist is always scary... Hunter is next, and I can imagine the high tier encounters being super annoying... But Baran went from the easiest to the hardest. Now, his multi-projectile auto-attack one-shots me, and I play melee, so there's basically no point in time where I can do anything to him, and I have 7k HP. His mid tier encounter actually 1-shots me through 7k HP, Fortify, and Steelskin. Not his big aoe, not his squares... Just his stupid "wand attack" or whatever. Side rant, there. But yeah. That's just PoE, man. (Friendly reminder that there are other games!) Last edited by ShadyC#1006 on Sep 1, 2020, 4:13:02 AM

" So you realize that every boss has at least one oneshot attack that you have to dodge and you've realized that for Baran it's his wand attack. But for some reason it's a giant problem/bug/glitch in Barans case but not in all other cases, do I get this right? You're not playing melee btw, you play cyclone CoC so you pretty much have to let him hit you on purpose. |

Yes, Cyclone is mobile and I can move around, but auto attacks are auto attacks.
Cyclone is still melee. I don't really understand why you think it's not. Yes, I think a boss's no-cooldown auto attack being a 1-shot is a problem. I'm sorry you can afford to build a character strong enough to avoid it being so, and thus have become desensitized to said problem. But not everyone can afford the 9k HP and 70k armor required to deal melee-range DPS (where mobility doesn't magically make you avoid 100% of all incoming sources of damage, since not everything is avoidable). |

I have 3 maybe 4 characters right now that can surive that attack. The rest just needs to dodge it which isn't that hard. Even my 5k hp glass cannon viper strike path finder can beat high tier Baran, deathless even as long as I don't mess up. It's not about build or budget here, only about how you play, as so often in this game.
His attack comes in fixed intervals. You dodge the first, attack, move to dodge the next, rinse repeat. Sure it's a bit harder than dodging telegraphed long windup slam attacks but it's doable even at point blank range. With Cyclone you literally just have to run circles around him and you'll never get hit. I am really looking forward to your first Sirus encounter and the post you are going to make about it. Assuming you'll still be able to make a post, chances are you'll lose your sanity and break down after the fight... Last edited by Baharoth15#0429 on Sep 1, 2020, 7:22:47 AM

" Unless he's sitting in his squares. And due to said squares, you can't always move away far enough to lure him out of them. Or, evne if you can, those squares can change right up again just as quickly. At least with Veritania's habit of sitting in her clouds, you can usually pull away from her enough to lure her back to the clearing. Baran is vastly different in that regard. You cannot always just run circles around him. I have fought Sirus already. I lost all my portals because of the game's shitty handling of asset loading, so I just chalk it up to needing a better computer and/or an SSD. It's annoying, because this game is from 2003 or whatever, but what can ya do. (My laptop had to freeze up as it loaded the assets for each of his big attacks. In particular, this made it impossible to get out of his mini-mazes, and I would die every time he used that ability. Impossible fight, but for a completely different reason, and I don't mind it nearly as much as Baran's autos one-shotting me.) P.S. Why do you stalk my posts? Lol. |
