That axe btw - Rage Support plus Saviour/Paradoxica. The bleeding sword is nice as well but.. it is a sword that is not a foil, who cares?

If I added things up right, 75 rage and the Rite of Ruin nodes gives the Zerker a potential 249% increased damage, just from 4 ascendancy points. An ENTIRE PASSIVE TREE's worth of damage from the cruel lab.

most probably balancing factor is:

this drop is restricted.

it drops from corrupted, 80% delirious boss of a Dark Forest map (tier 9 only) while possessed by 3 tormented spirits

GGG for years believes that balancing extreme power with extreme rarity is cool idea. so why not?


Problem is, and remains to be:

this weapon is CRAP

compared to dual wielding two 3ex foils

and it shouldnt be the case. like literaly, this axe has no use, no place in the game. if you can afford weapon like this you can afford 2 swords (or 1sword + Saviour/Paradoxica) that will outclass it, no contest

2h buffs has to make it not possible. so far - nothing

The first time before 3.7 when they announced a melee rework i as a melee player was really excited and quite hyped almost like a kid that never had a christmas gift before (lol). Every day i was waiting for the big melee changes teaser.

A few days before 3.7 was released we already had lots of information but nothing really pointed to prominent changes for Melee. I thought they are saving the very best until the last minute.

Then i saw all the attack speed nerfs within patch notes in 3.7 and the disappointment was huge. Also the melee rework didnt change anything except for buffing up Cyclone.

I feel like its going to be the same this time.

I must be honest with you guys. My minimum expectation is that 2Hand melee weapons get a fair equivalently strong implicit bonus like dualwielding gets.

They just hate melee gameplay and they don't want it to be competitive, that's all there is to it. They are literally turning melee into ranged.

Cyclone is only a byproduct of fixed desync, QoL features and overall power creep.
I’m extremely concerned GGG will simply nerf cyclone without understanding it’s the only good melee skill, so nothing else will be left.

Melee is perfectly “viable,” but doesn’t stand out in any way. It’s just not worth the risk and, except for a few niche builds, the supposed tankiness is largely unhelpful.

Oh it is coming for sure. I was surprised to see Cyclone was not nerfed this league, and GGG don't ever nerf anything in moderation. It's always heavy handed meta cancelling.
