Can I manually install directx?

I downloaded PoE, installed it, and noticied that it installed directx.

Some time later, I got a blue screen of death that might be related to the directx installation. I don't want to go into a long discussion about the BSOD. But yes, I did every imaginable hardware test and I've basially ruled out the possibility that it is hardware related.

I'd like to know EXACTLY what sort of directx it installed, and whether or not I can manually download said directx from microsoft and do the installation myself manually, just to see if that would avoid the blue screen.

Just so you know, it saved a system restore point just before installing directx, and when I restored to that point, the blue screen went away and I was able to boot into windows again. So for now, I am running at that restore point and the directx that was installed by PoE is fully UNINSTALLED when I reverted the system using the restore point.

So I don't need instructions on how to uninstall directx, that's already been done, I just need to know the exact version number (including any decimal digits) of directx, and if anyone has a link to download it manually that would be awesome.

well PoE uses DirectX11 so latest version of that and you should be fine -->
I still would like to know if the "latest" happens to be the version that PoE installs. Like, I just wanna know the exact version of DX11 that PoE installs. I'd run the installer myself to find out, except doing so could crash my computer. Hence the reason I'm asking here, if anyone knows the exact version being installed currently by PoE I would like to know.
I'm pretty sure PoE installs it without asking for permission, so I can't run the installer to find out what version, without risking that it's going to install it, and I'm not sure if I would be able to stop the install.

Then I think the fastest is to e-mail techsupport.
Considering that every game on earth installs exactly the same exact version of DX as any other because they all use the same exact installer provided by Microsoft and have no permission or ability/knowledge to modify it in any way, whatever is causing your bsod, it's not the DX that poe installs, because the dx that poe installs, also is installed by basically any other software that utilizes directX in any way shape and/or form.
No rest for the wicked.
DirectX is part of the Windows Update (since Version 10 with Vista/7), so no possibility to install another version, s. How to install the latest version of DirectX "DirectX versions and updates by Operating System", e.g.
"

Windows 10 and Server 2016 Technical Preview

DirectX 11.3 and 12 are included with these Windows versions.

Updates will be available through Windows Update. There is no stand-alone package for these versions of DirectX.

The DirectX Setup in "Path of Exile\Redist" folder is out-dated (October 2014) and was only for Dx9.0c (so in fact it does nothing anymore).
You can update directX manually
PoE don't install DirectX just call the system to update it.
The curious movement what you want are bad and system and application should go normal without it.
Really checked hardware ale components ?

No, you can't update DirectX anymore!
Your link is only for DX9.0c (and the same as in the "Path of Exile\Redist" folder) and out-dated (look at the "Details / Date Published: 4/18/2011").

And POE uses (since over a year) DX 11 and this can only be updated with the "Windows Updates"!

:) You look at wrong place:
4/18/2011 is the date of application to updating DirectX named DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer, and therefore making wrong conclusions:
because You have Windows XP or Vista it is trying update version 9, try run this official Microsoft Web updater on Windows 10 :)...
