Just to avoid from any kind of accident that you mentioned, I keep my stuffs in the Stash. Very unlikely to be able to sell anything from there with one move.
In every games what I've played so far, has been a way to solve this kind of errors. If not, unfortunately this mystical selling was my last journey here.

When you first click the vendor, you can choose Buy or Sell. If you "Sell" Wisdom scrolls, you get one scroll fragment for each scroll you sell. It takes 5 fragments to equal one scroll. So if you sell 5 scrolls, you will get 1 scroll in return. If you sell a stack of 40 scrolls you will get 8 scrolls in return.
If you hit "Buy" when you visit the vendor, you can't buy Scrolls of Wisdom. Portal scrolls are the lowest currency you can buy. One portal scroll costs 3 Wisdom scrolls.
If currency disappeared from your stash, it's because you bought something from the vendor. When you buy something, it will take it from your inventory if you have it. If you don't have it in inventory, it will take it from your stash.

NO, you did NOT see 'portal scrolls' as rewards in the window.
Selling Wisdom Scrolls gives scroll fragments. If you sell 5 wisdom scrolls, you will get 1 WISDOM scroll back. What you saw were wisdom scrolls.
I believe in you. But honestly saying, this is my secondary problem only.
I did not touch those orbs and they gone. This problem for me is more important.
