Chaos Orb recipe or Regal Orb?
I looked at the vendor recipes and a full set of unid rares gets:
Level 60-74 = chaos orbs Level 75-100 = regal orbs So Regal is harder to get but when I look at trade values, chaos is worth more than regal. So should I just make sure I get chaos orbs (mix in at least 1 item below lvl 75)? Or am I misreading the trade figures - or maybe the price likely to change over time and this is just a temporary thing? Last bumped on May 2, 2020, 3:04:21 PM

Chaos is the trade currency of choice, do not bother with the regal recipe period. Most people will also tell you not to bother with the chaos recipe outside of the first couple days of the league. The reason being you will make WAY more currency just playing the game and not picking up rares in the first place.

It wasn't always this way... Long ago when the recipes were introduced into the game, a regal orb was worth about 3 chaos. Since then, crafting options have changed immensely and chaos orbs have become more valuable.
However, the recipes have never changed, so they don't reflect current market values. I would stick with the chaos recipe. If you want to turn in a set of regal-level items, just replace one of the items with a chaos-level item and you'll receive a chaos orb instead of a regal orb. - here's my sig

" This was a bit of a surprise though. I'm not getting much luck with drops - nearly all my currency has come from the chaos rare recipe or the chroamtic orb one for 3 linked sockets of each colour. Am I missing some way of making currency? I rarely find anything any players would buy ( I think) and the vendors always offer the same amount (I sell it to them unid, is that wrong?). |

" You should get a lot of chaos drops running maps. You should get quite a lot more chaos than Regal drops. You should not need to do recipes or sell stuff to get a lot of chaos. As for recipes, I'm self found and prefer regal recipes. That's because I actually use them more as orbs, not currency. Since I rarely buy anything, I couldn't care less about market value. For me, regals are worth more than chaos. |

" Basically the idea is that the faster and more efficient you are, the more drops you'll see and thus more currency. What that ends up meaning is lots of repetition. Like say you run a map and collect rares for recipe. The time spent micromanaging all that (picking up/storing till ready/sorting/etc) is time you weren't mapping. I myself get bored with the repetition really quick, so I can chain maps nearly as efficiently as I should. Yep, totally over league play.

this league the alterations from a full chaos recipe were worth more than the chaos, just don't do it :p

" Alterations? There may be something fundamental I don't know about this, I'm guessing you don't mean Orbs of Alteration? Since selling the rares to vendors gets orbs (shards) of Transmutation rather than Alteration. |
