Reflect Damage should be taken out of game.
|
This reflect damage mechanic is such a but a bad mod on map.
1 single random mod should not prevent you from doing content. ALL other mod in the game makes content harder and more fun. While reflect, user just out right have to ignore because there is NOOO way the can do map. You should never have something that prevent user from doing content. Making it hard yes, but not out right block them. Last edited by Urza710#1378 on Apr 18, 2020, 1:34:46 AM Last bumped on Apr 24, 2020, 7:51:29 PM

+ agree
creating another character only for doing reflected maps is bullshit and selling those is not really worth. also the rare "cannot take reflected damage" mods from sextants should also be removed |

I second that. There are ways to cope with reflect (Sibyl's Lament, Sextant mod, Life Gain on Hit), but I usually choose to sell a corrupted map with reflect to avoid this purely punishing mechanic.

There are items and other things that helps against reflect maps. Shaper influenced rings can roll reduced reflected damage taken from 45-55% (2 rings remove reflect). Also god power of Yugul i think removes 20% reflect. There are skill nodes in skill tree that grants you reduced reflected damage taken. Also other comment mentioned below some of the things.

" A single map mod should not be requiring people to build around it. Something like RF builds not dealing with no-regen maps is mostly ok, (though I'm still not enthusiastic about it) because that's a specific weakness that specific skill has. Here, reflect affects all builds that do elemental or physical damage, and don't include mitigation against this specific map mod. (I'll also note that RF builds, if they enter an un-IDed no-regen map, have an opportunity to notice before they engage in combat. Either from noticing dropping health, or when it turns off at 1hp. A reflect map will instantly kill most players the instant they attack an enemy, and doesn't provide any hints before that point.) |

They should also remove curses from map mods. Or ailment avoidance. Or ele equilibrium.
Look, it's annoying, I get it. But that's what it's supposed to be. My build has no space to run curse removal flask, so I roll past dangerous curses. Your build cannot deal with reflect - re-roll. You seem to have forgotten that there used to be times when, even with no "reflect" mod on a map, there were magic and rare mobs with reflect affix on them. We miss you, bald man. " Then they removed those affixes. And that was the right decision. I'll also note that reflect is banned from appearing on Vaal side areas in maps. This was also the right decision. If you ran a map with a dangerous curse, would you instantly die by attacking a normal enemy, or would it just make the map more dangerous? If you ran an unidentified map with a dangerous curse, would you be able to notice before you started combat, or would the first clue come when you exploded? (And don't tell me not to run un-ided maps; there's a literal challenge for running these. This is a part of the game.) I'm aware that "rolling past dangerous mods" is a good strategy to follow. Reflect is a unique map mod, because of the number of builds it affects, the impossibility of actually running the map anyway, and the instant death that it causes. |

+1
I love summoner, but reflect is one reason why I have little desire to try other builds. If I corrupt a map and it happens to reroll with reflect, I'm not going to bin or trade it away. It's easier to let skeletons blow themselves up on packs than it is buying potentially expensive items to mitigate the damage. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds. Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! " You should never be stacking reduced reflect stats because they're useless. All it takes is 1 increased damage taken debuff and you're dead. |
|
" If you can't mitigate 1% of your own damage than you are a glasscannon that deserve to get smashed for running such a stupid build. Edit: 1% of 16% of your damage or whatever is the current reflect value Last edited by SuperMotte#2631 on Apr 21, 2020, 5:48:18 PM
