I had my moment with Jack because im a fan of talking weapons. Well OG is in far better shape than Jack but it would be nice to see refreshed version of it. Maby more sentien?
Take care. |

I used to use Jack on my old CLeave Gladiator, back when I had no idea what I was doing. I always liked this weapon, had a bit of a nostalgia trip when I picked on up recently, but realized it's way too weak to be used.
I would love a fated upgrade. Jack, the Insatiable? With more bleed interactions? And of course a hefty damage increase. This is a buff™

" Charan was wrong to do that. I cannot for the life of me imagine that those players want their items to be vendor trash, and GGG could try to reach out to them for at least a nod of approval for their buffs (who is gonna get angry at numerical buffs for the item they designed for a very different PoE? That would shock me!). The argument that this stuff has to remain static forever even though nobody will ever touch it is ridiculous and hinders the quality of the game overall. We're all in this leaky boat together, people.

" This needs clarification. If anything, I've always encouraged supporter-designers to email GGG and ask if their items can be reviewed/improved if they're not happy with them. There's something fundamentally wrong with paying that much money and being left dissatisfied by the service. But now I think about it, you're talking about someone else's item, right? Then yeah, I still feel that way. If someone who paid for it is unhappy, they should let GGG know. But if you're unhappy with someone else's design? I suppose you could contact GGG but since you didn't actually pay for it, I don't think they should respond as snappily as they should when someone who paid for an item expressed dissatisfaction with it. Your stake in it is much less personal and tangible. You didn't pay GGG directly to be involved in the process, after all. Unless you're going to bat for a supporter-designer specifically because they don't know how. I've done that a few times, but never with any interference as regards the item design itself. Even if everyone else thinks it's 'trash', if the designer is happy with the result, that's that. If GGG choose to buff or nerf it from there, that's on them. Certainly you can post feedback here. Of course. But contacting GGG directly about your criticisms of someone else's design? I think that's a little obnoxious and imposing. Still, what's the worst that can happen? They politely brush you off? Hell, GGG staff are so good at politely brushing people off they rarely know they've been brushed off. So, eh, go for it. Oh and FYI I encouraged Reaper to do precisely what you said I don't do. Independent of this thread. I had no idea he was not happy with Jack, and would love to see that rectified. Poor guy didn't even know the email address to use, and that's THE five-times Diamond Supporter. GGG don't exactly make it easy to do these things, given they're probably STILL backlogged. Or did you not notice that they've removed any indication that player-designed uniques was ever a thing from the site? As for GGG 'reaching out'...why would they? If you as a customer don't express dissatisfaction, a company's not typically going to personally reach out and ask if you're okay. They might do some sort of spam email follow-up, but in my experience that is very much not the GGG way. That is a luxury. After all, they don't 'reach out' when they nerf supporter-designed uniques. It's their game. They don't have to. And I've seen that happen, although not too recently. The person currently in charge of managing unique designs is very aware of how detrimental unique item nerfs can be...heck, they're aware of how poorly received any sort of unique item drawback is. The last handful of older unique item reviews were almost all about removing inherent drawbacks, eg The Anvil losing its movement speed drawback. So yeah, I...hit you on the fingers for suggesting contacting GGG over other people's work, and would again. If it's not your item, if you didn't pay for it, or if you don't know for a fact that the person who did pay for it isn't satisfied, stay in your own lane. Post your feedback here where it belongs and let the design team do their job. If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between. " I agree with a lot of what you said and please keep in mind I'm very grateful for the supporters who without their support this game would not likely be the amazing game it is now.. Those were purchases and every player here has a right to complain or suggest changes to any item, whether or not those suggestions should be heeded is not up to me. Charan and nobody else has earned the right to "hit someone on the fingers" over suggesting changes to someone else's item, I definitely think anyone who spent so much money on an item GGG willing should have the say on what happens with their item.. be it leaving that item as is forever or asking GGG to make it relevant again which im sure many unique designed by supporters needs after so much time and would really like to see happen if possible. But everyone who's spent any amount of money on this game is equal here outside of the again respect those of you whom (could afford) to support this game deserve for helping create this game i hope we all love. I received my supporter title for my only supporter pack but i am no more important than the new player who spent 10$ today to buy some stash tabs and nobody else is either even if you did spend 12,000$ on a supporter pack because at the end of all of that you received what you payed for. Beyond that is between the one who purchased it and GGG, Shaming people in any way for suggesting a change is quite petty and detracts a great deal from any respect they might have deserved. Oooookay can we get back to the topic at hand? OP created Jack the Axe and I feel he's entitled enough to suggest changes to it. Need more input, Reaper?
