Why is Headhunter still in the game?

Based on the aura nerf, mjor, bino and others. How is this item still in the game?

Because the people who spend hundreds of dollars on a free game need something to do.
This is a buff™

Isnt that the same premise as the aura's?

Should one item be so strong?

It definitely should not be so strong without significant investment on top of it.. I think the biggest issue with the headhunter is the fact it is a belt and not a more critical piece of gear that forces you to sacrifice to use it.

I could very easily beat all the content in this game without ever equipping a belt however if it were most of my other pieces of gear im not sure how much weight that claim would hold.

We do need chase items however for a fair amount of players to have something to work towards, Without sufficiently attractive chase items a lot of players would burn out a lot earlier than they do.

If you think heralds are in anyway shape or form comparable to HH, you never played with HH. Have fun killing even shaper with HH self curse. While heralds you afk in all in mechanics and kill extremely fast. There is a reason HH is not very popular on hardcore, you are extremely vulnerable without stacks. 1 week after it became a thing 15% of people on poe.ninja managed to set up the build, it is not expensive at all, even with it being supper meta and everything costing 10x the usual price for the build you can become nearly immortal for 30 ex.
Its a question that only Rory and Chris aka the meta double team can answer
Because many people would cry that their buids revolving around 1 item are being destroyed.
GGG is to scared to nerf stuff even if it should be nerfed.

They didnt really nerf to much the herald stuff either, it is still up to 60% aura effect per notable with is up to 6 times more than any other notable in the game.

GGG shouldnt care about builds and should focus to make the game as much balanced as they can. If someone abuse mechanics or use stuff that is overpowred, he automaticly take the risk of being nerfed next.
Thats natural, though GGG is still to afraid to do it the right way.

Having very powerful chase uniques in the game is a good thing.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
Having very powerful chase uniques in the game is a bad thing.
because it's needed to complete blights/legions on high tier maps?
