Where is the Auction House?

To put it simply GGG's trade philosophy is a set of oxymorons. They want players to trade so items have value, but they don't want players to trade because it makes drops less meaningful. They design encounters around you being able to trade, then make it so trading causes you to lose your shot at other encounters you're in. They want your drops and crafts to have a value, but they pollute the loot and crafting pools with so much bloat that they're relatively worthless etc.

Bro, we already have auction house but extremely exploitable. PoE official trade site and poe.trade . I don't see the reason why they wouldn't put one inside the game where I don't need to spend 5-10 minutes spamming people, before they finally decide to send invite. just this morning, I whispered over 25 players to buy Beachhead T15 map, that's a lot of lost time doing nothing. AH inside the game would only improve the game. Instead of wasting necessary time browsing, I could buy it insantly at current market price. I don't know why are so many players against playing the game.

As for the drops and their value - If I have expensive item which i'm not using, of course I would want to sell it. It's the same thing we are doing right now via 3rd party sites. How would this decrease item value exactly? We undercut each other right now using these 3rd party sites, doing it on AH is basically another way trying to get currency (faster and less annoying way).

Long story short - It's time to enter in new gaming era, stop making us waste time browsing 3rd party sites instead of playing your GAME.

I agree something needs to be done, whether it's an auction house or some sort of way to be able to trade while in an instance. I was merely pointing out how flawed their manifesto is.

What history did you actually experience, besides obviously reading about D3 instead of playing it? The auction house was absolutely great. The REAL MONEY auction house was what failed. I've never met anyone who actually played D3 and used the ah say anything bad about it, so I'm guessing that you did neither.

The auction house would function similar to what we have now, but I wouldn't need to minimize, I wouldn't have to spam out 50 people when currency exchanging, and I wouldn't have to get the automated "GG Thanks and GL Exile!" after trading with some level 1 char. There just isn't a downside at this point.

Prior to the release of the rmah, the auction house was very well received. Stop spreading misinformation.

Misinformation? Wrong.

I played a lot of vanilla D3. And I (as many others) hated the AH. Why? A lot of reasons. But mainly the horrific balancing around it, making it so damn required that farming your own stuff wasn't only devalued, it became plain boring.

Stop using the RMAH as some kind of scapegoat here. We get it, you like(ed) the AH. Good for you. That does not - in any shape or form - mean that the AH was good for the game. Why is it gone? Because a lot of people demanded it. No, no, no, not just the RMAH, but the regular one too. Why? Because they didn't like how reacquired it was to use it. Quotes from D3 devs are telling the same story; "of course drop rates were balanced around the AH and how accessible it was".

So stop with your suppression techniques just because I have another opinion than you. We've both played it a lot, we were both there - we have conflicting experiences. It happens.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
Its on Play Station )))
You mean a company that hasn't released a good game in almost a decade seriously also failed at making a decent auction house? SHOCKER. Holy damn, better get rid of all auction houses in all games - in real life too while we are at it.

Seriously though what are you even afraid of? That botters and other cheaters make some more $ than they are making now? It's not like they aren't around now or that the little hassle of going to a hideout etc. is too complex to stop them from botting. Yeah hurr durr it consumes their time so what? They can just run 20 bots if they like to.

I'll take the massive qol over them potentially making more and unless you are doing rmt yourselves I don't know why you would care so much that you would rather have trade suck.

Besides of that I don't get it why ggg can't at least make an AH for maps and other small crap at the very least. What is the excuse for that?
whispered about 30 people yesterday trying to buy exalted orbs before I got a party inv.

Anytime I have to buy something its the same shit, it's annoying af.
You guys realize that the OP was just a troll right?

He totally succeeded in getting all the same old faces to come here and make all the same old arguments.

Here let me sum up this thread for you:

- "HERPA-DERPA WHY NOT EVERYTHING EASY GGG?! YOU STUPID"
- "HERPA-DERPA D3 BAD! YOU STUPID!"

Please don't feed the trolls.

So much truth in this thread and well made arguments. GGG already built an auction house, it's just the shittiest one in gaming history. I honestly come to believe some high up GGG devs are literally sadists who enjoy making things painful for their somewhat captive player base.
I believe GGG auctioned it off in 2010.  :)

As long as there are enough mtx sales then GGG's thinking is "Auction house... we don't need no auction house! We don't have to give you no stinkin' auction house!"
"You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."
Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration.

for my part, i'm rather afraid of ggg planning to move trading ingame, cause that would mean we get the console trade for pc. with no search options.

why? because they already said that. we either get comfortable search or confortable item exchange.

age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!
The price fixer guilds don't want an auction house
