idk about repentance but mathil had a wand so that he could weapon swap to the dancing dervish for rampage and a lot of people were confused as to why he had a wand so i guess they just copied him

lol so typical if that's the case. duuuur copy Mathil. Still, any one with a IQ of 2 can tell your weapons and gloves are disabled, or rather I should say you are not encumbered and therefor not utilizing Hollow Palm.... Dancing Dervish aside...wands? Repentance gloves? so confused haha

The glove and wands are equipped then the stats required for them removed so they are red and not active. you get extra gem sockets for leveling while still using hollow palm

You know, I had absolutely no intention of building something for one with nothing this league.... until I saw where starforge was pricing at and how limited the selection was for exquisite blades.
After making the swap I lost count of how many levels before I noticed the lack of crit. Now that I've run it for a while, I just don't see using it long term (as far as being able to afford upgrades in standard long term). Maybe if I had it on a crazy dex ranger, but having to give up the glove slot and both weapon slots is a lot of stats to make up for on the tree. Thematically its great, but since unarmed has a base chance of 0 to crit it's a bit of a deal breaker -- at least impale is still good for now. Yep, totally over league play.

" ah! thank you. Doesnt explain why they all use the same gloves, and wands of all things. " it hits like a truck with no crit man... crit is a noob trap anyways, you're life starved and those points are better spent on life, not to mention more dex. The amulet slot is open to Astramentis, or a really good rare that way too. It can reach 6k HP and does stupid amounts of dps. I believe Champ is the way to go too. I mean, sure, go crit with Rigwalds Curse, and raider and enjoy amazballs crit dps with all of 4k life. Not my thang. Last edited by DamageIncorporated#7815 on Mar 21, 2020, 11:21:45 PM

" Damagewise its basically on par with my starforge cyclone slayer, but with fewer slots. Right now at 639 dex (1 shy of another 10 I know) it's "nice" but losing both weapon slots and gloves means having to resort to the tree to fill in the gaps the gear does not. But, it basically meant spending 2ex on a max roll astramentis instead of like 13+ex for an unlinked starforge. Yep, totally over league play.

639 dex, lol. how are you going to judge the build when you're 300+ dex below what you should have?

" Based on what? Theorycrafting? Still gotta have some degree of survivability, and the lack of gloves/shield means two slots for flat health gone. I already killed the first conquerors nice and quick - but you're still having to balance the dex vs the lack of health. However, because its flat damage increases, it scales really well with impale. Now I could have gone with a dex heavy class like ranger raider, but I built a duelist champ once I saw delirium meant surviving things I didn't even see. But what "build"? I literally threw it on a duelist champion when I saw it was more cost effective than saving up for a starforge and the rare sword alternatives were lacking. Sure I could go like I did with my baron 1k str, but dex doesn't grant health and evasion/acc are what go up with dex. The biggest issue was always gonna be health given the nodes devoted to dex. I'm already having a hard enough time staying interested in the league as I build the map pool. It's not like I can afford a 6 link belly or something for a while, the plain white tab will have to get me by. Yep, totally over league play.

let me get this straight
you switched builds mid-way through the character - wrong starter, wrong ascendancy, no dex on rings/boots/chest/belt... and then you're comparing it damage-wise to a fully fleshed out build with a starforge, and it is "basically on par". so, it must be pretty good then, huh? also, there are many ways to have a good defense while having only 4k hp.
