WHY is Avatar of Fire "OP"?

Skill description:
"Converts ALL Physical Damage to Fire Damage. Cannot Resist Cold".

From a normal viewer's standpoint that just means that all "Incoming" Physical Damage is converted to fire damage which can then be geared to resist thereby giving you an easier method of protecting yourself from incoming damage. Except against things like HellRaik (or w'e his name is?).

So WHY do people think that's OP? Are there "hidden" passives to out-going player damage that isn't listed? If so, that'd be completely broken as I don't understand why you'd do that to begin with? (ie: hiding hidden passives in a skill in order to hide it's broken factor?)

What's up :)
Basically, it converts all the physical damage you deal, rather than all physical damage dealt to you - and due to the nature of converted damage, you thus get damage bonuses from physical, fire, and elemental damage passives (such as Catalyze).
I have wandered through insanity;
I have walked the spiral out.
Heard its twisted dreamed inanity
In a whisper, in a shout.
In the babbling cacophony
The refrains are all the same:
"[permutations of humanity]
are unworthy of the name!"

Theyre already dead, the discharger 1 shot them and the rest of the game.

So + to "Fire Damage" on the Templar/Witch's side of the passive wheel do NOT effect Fire Elemental Weapon damage without AOF?

Is this dev confirmed :|?

+ Fire damage WOULD affect elemental damage done by weapons. However its likely not worth the point unless you are AoF, becuase a +x% damage with x weapon node would be better.

Of course +fire damage affects fire damage on weapons. But when 100% of your weapon damage is fire damage they boost it a lot more.

Create a templar, get it to level 30 with AoF, pyromaniac and catalyze. Use Shield Charge supported by Chance to Ignite and Elemental Proliferation. Does any other build compete with that sort of damage output?

*Points to dischargers, witches, AoF rangers. *
