Speculation - New passives. How does it work?

Hey folks!

Okay, soo.. I'm at little uncertain what's going to happen with all these new passives. Will they require us to use our 121/123 points to fulfill these new ones?

Or.. will the jewel grant us extra points to spend, OR will it automatically grant us the new passives, depending on the jewel quality, and have a limit on small, medium and big jewels?

I can see these being good, if there's extra points granted, by the jewel itself, which we then can allocate in the new wheel. And restricting us to a set amount of those jewels.

If it works like it currently is, and just gives us extra options.. how would we unspec the points, and change between jewels? Could become really annoying while leveling.. if you cant just remove the jewel to see new ones.

What's your thoughts so far?

You use your skills points.

So in short, it's likely these new branches are 99% of the time not even close to worth it.

Which is kinda sad development time wise.

What a waste.

Probably and if so sad it's a waste yeah. then again i remember they also want to up the level cap at one point mean would kind of love that meaning higher level content higher level gear and more skill points but yeah waste if it's true.
3.26 when?

You have to trim a branch of your tree to graft on a new one. It's a trade off. You don't just get stuff for free.
I highly doubt they won’t be worth it...280 new notables (there are currently 357 on the entire tree) means over 78% more variety as well as an undisclosed amount of new keystones.

Basically in outer jewel sockets only you will be able to socket a cluster jewel. They come in 3 sizes: large, medium, and small, with at least 2 uniques. Large jewels appear to have 2 sockets as part of their nodes, and medium jewels 1. You can only place a smaller cluster jewel inside each socket. That means for the 1 jewel socket you can get up to 1 large, 2 medium, and 2 small. Keystones look to count as a small. There is the one unique cluster jewel with 3 sockets, and I do not know of 3 large jewels will be able to be placed in it or only 3 medium jewels. You expand your tree and will have to spend your own points to get the passives.

maybe a few are but most won't like darth said unless u get a branch that gives life or something u really need including a nice node or 2

Just look at the cluster and jewel in the teaser.

Absolutely no one is investing 10 skill points (9 of which are basically wasted) to get Overshock. ITS NEVER HAPPENING, except for memes and laughs.

Edit; or new teaser Touch of Cruelty...for 10 points! Lmfao

Knowing GGG they will remove free points from campaign when they raise level cap, so we wont get power spike from it and they wont need to balance whole passive tree once again.

the problem is the initial investment cost.

you spend 2 travel points, plus a point on a jewel socket. before you even get to the new node.

3 invested points, for practically nothing.

Lets say we want overshock, as a witch. The most likely jewel socket we're going to be close to is by essence surge. the 2 travel points to that socket give 4% mana each. AKA NOTHING.

so we invest 3 passives to slot the jewel. Now we spend SEVEN more to get to overshock. 10 points total gets us:

8% mana. 102% lightning damage. 30% increased shock effect.

Alternatively, Breath of lightning + Heart of thunder, plus a travel point, gives us:

142% lightning damage. 35% shock effect. shock chance. lightning pen. lightning damage leech.

Touch of cruelty is even worse. There is PLENTY of damage on the tree already, and the ones shown are not competitive.

Now, if theres a medium life jewel that doesnt suck, it'll definitely find a home for classes that cant get Constitution. Hopefully other nodes like +max res exist (better than the small one we've seen).
Every notbale can appear on every jewel. Which means you can roll every notable on small jewel as well, and make pathing to the notable shorter (if you dont care about small nodes).
At least I think it works this way.
Also Overshock is a node for Shock Support only. No other character would pick it, ever.
