TL:DR - if you want a unique, you can possibly farm div cards (if the item has one) or pray it drops randomly, or just trade for it.

Gotta admit it's impressive managing to get the attention of a dev in these lowly forums.

Keystones have no effect on what uniques (or other gear) drops. Modifiers on gear only affect drops when they say they do (with mods such as increased item quantity/rarity), or more esoteric stuff like Cloak of Tawm'r Isley or Perandus Signet.

Sorry to be one of those who complain, but I don't know what determines unique drops but what ever it is needs to be re-considered because the number of repeats is ridiculous. When you have over 900 uniques in the game and you get 3-4 of the same one in a league, well that's just isn't right. It's not just one particular one but I get multiples of multiples. It's stuff like this that gets really frustrating when you're trying to fill your Unique Tab.

Heh, definitely had several of each of those this league myself. And probably the past few leagues really. You'd think I'd have an easier time vendoring them by now...

I know the original thread is a bit old, but given the OP is new and the thread found its way to the top of the list, it’s prudent to note that some uniques can be target farmed. Anything that is boss exclusive (Watcher’s Eye, Shaper’s Touch, Aul’s Uprising) can be farmed by the surprising method of killing the boss. Additionally uniques that can be obtained from divination cards can often be farmed from specific maps/zones. Humility, for example, is well know to drop in The Blood Aqueduct from A9 and it’s related tile sets. You can then trade 9 cards for a Tabula Rasa.

Facebreaker does not have an associated div card and cannot be target farmed by any means. You can (1) drop one, (2) chance strapped mitts, or (3) get one via Mitts, Arrogance of the Vaal, or Jack in the Box div cards (random “prize”).

The best answer the OP could ever get was the first aswer, but we are on page 3 now. ^^

Honestly, even though i know there is, for 99% of the cases, unique cant be targeted farming, I still hope there actually is a better way to farm for some specific one.

Complete RNG is what prevent me from grtting into ssf. I know my luck wont carry me far in that league.
