If you are not using a META build, you can't play endgame AT ALL

Man this post is still full of people who can't git gud.
So all you really end up having is playing the economy, and plowing maps. And if you want to get anywhere on your character, you are better off mowing monsters down like weeds and just collecting pennies of the ground as fast as possible than any meaningful item hunting.

Meta build is very different from a strong build.
This league I played a skelemancer, a ball lightning guardian and a savior champion. I used the skelemancer for bossing and metas (lol), the guardian for delves and the champion for fast clearing maps so everything has its place. Second-class poe gamer

You see them wielding the most expensive weapon, backed up by several skulls around their waste, thinking "oh man, a HH is mandatory". Play the damn game. Have fun. Play whatever the hell you want. You WILL reach an enlightened state where most, if not all, of your builds will turn out pretty good, no matter what it is. Don't care so much about what other people do. I have noticed most player tend to think 20k to 50k dps is already enough, but it isn't.
It is enough if you are good at dodging or know the defence layer you have. My brain exploded when i once follow the meta which is last league when i decided to play icicle mine. my dps was about 200k. There is so much different. Before that my off meta build mostly have 20k to 30k dps only. Then i reviewed all my build and made change (in standard ). I can say after that 50% of them all can challenge UE. Before? Never even once. The 50% left i think not viable anymore to the new update. |

Its worth to note that the DPS shown on the skill is most likely wrong. I have 20k DPS shown there but my real DPS is about 10 million.

Nerco is strong yea... but you don't need to forced to play it in order to fight the end game. Keep in mind this patch, many of your builds will feel bad due to the insane increase in boss HP.I hate to say this but mathil is a good example, making non-meta builds and taking it to the end game, theres also tons of other builds on the forums these days, you just have to learn to look.

30k dps is fine for like everything below t16 rares/bosses
98kx23 isnt that good vs t16 bosses + harder content its also not even close to good vs shaper/anything uber/some high tier rares |

No you're wrong.
This game has an overflow of builds/skills that can be geared to comfortably clear all content. Meta is just basically fully optimal, not "only option". You can pick nearly any skill and clear everything. For example you can just build around frost blades and /lol content. Many of the non-meta builds are better because items are cheaper as well.
