How awakener lvl affects Sirus drops?
|
Hey folks,
I honestly tried to find an answer to that question but honestly and surprisingly couldnt find any satisfying one. The wiki says it should only affect the lvl of the drops, not the drops itself. Grimro stated though that you get better loot from lvl 8 ones. He didnt give much explanation for it, except that you seem to have a guaranteed unique drop at lvl 8. Anyone has more insight in whether it is worth killing Sirus in higher/highest Awakening lvl? And pls dont come up with something like: "Sirus is so easy at lvl 8, why would you bother anyways!". I just like knowing the circumstances and odds behind it. Thx in advance! Last bumped on May 8, 2020, 6:09:32 AM

nobody knows exactly, no one will never know exactly. just assume the higher you make the numbers go in PoE, the greater your chances, but your chances are still pretty low

You'd have to have someone willing to run 100 T0 awakeners and 100 T4 awakeners to compare to Grimro's data set. Good luck finding someone to do that. It's not even worth it for a streamer to do that.

I don't have the exact answer, but if i was forced to bet, i'd say it doesn't change anything, and here is why:
The awakening level tooltip specifically states that "Awakening Levels grant bonuses which affect all maps." Though they sometimes make mistakes, GGG usually choses the wording carefully. So, is sirus area considered a map? First of all, no area modifiers are visible when showing the area map, as it would have been expected if the awakening level was in effect. And furthermore, bonus objectives aren't incremented after killing sirus for the first time (as opposed to the shaper prior to 3.9). " I am pretty sure I should have noticed, but I have never seen bonus stated in the awakening level as actual area modifiers even in maps influenced by them (as opposed to what Sextants do to watchstones / did to map). Nevertheless, maps do are maps and get those bonus if they applies (I am referring to those awakening bonus only granted when doing T14+ maps) Also, no map modifiers are shown when opening a Vaal area from a SacFrag, or even a Conqueror's Stronghold (for the SacFrag, suppose you're opening it from the non-hideout version, so to not get the +x% IIQ from Zana's default bonus on maps). This would raise the question: are Vaal Areas/ Stronghold maps, for the sake of the awakening level? " That happened because pre-3.9 The Shaper's Realm was an actual map in the atlas, and specifically stated that completing it would give completition bonus. Now that Shaper, Elder, UberElder and Shaper Guardian (not tried so far with Elder Guardian, if they gave at least map completition like they did pre-3.9) are no more on the Atlas, no completition bonus is given when they are cleared. I expect Strongholds would have given at least map completition if they opened in a map not previously done by the player (is that even possible?), but since Eye of The Storm is not an Atlas location, it's reasonable to not get completition bonus after first Sirus kill. I approve Imaginaerum's hunch: the higher the numbers, the better (even if Sirus stops get extra level after Awakening 4) |

" Some of them are actually displayed. For example, if a map has a "50% increased monster life" explicit, you'll see an effective "68% increased monster life" area modifier if awakening level 8. PLEASE QUOTE ME IF YOU ARE EXPECTING A REPLY Last edited by xhul#1978 on Jan 22, 2020, 7:13:00 AM

" If it's not an atlas location, do you think it's reasonable to not get any completion bonus but have the area affected by awakening level? " Right… totally forgot about the "+3% effect of map modifiers per awakening level". Of course that was not meant to be displayed, but it's reflected in the numbers (though, in your example, I would have expected a 50*1.18 = 59% incMosterLife). That might have slipped - didn't look so carefully at the numbers. Still, other non-magnitude bonus, like "Unique Map Boss has 3% more Life per Awakening level" are not displayed (Maybe in case of "Titan's" maps, for this specific example?). I referred mostly to those kinds of bonus. " The answer for this question is the same for the question "Are strongholds and Vaal Side Areas from sacFrags maps?". I think, however, I have found something interesting in Wikia about the original question " One of the Awakening Level effects is: "Increased chance per Awakening Level for the Conquerors of the Atlas to drop additional rewards" The question now is: Is Sirus considered a Conquerors of the Atlas? He should be, at least according to the game lore (He was their leader along Zana), but I guess we'll need an official confirmation. |

" But doesn't that stand in conflict to the line I found on the Sirus-wiki? Here https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Sirus,_Awakener_of_Worlds you can find the following line, at the very bottom for changes in 3.9.2: "The Awakener has been decreased to level 81 from 84 at Awakening levels 1 to 5, increasing by one for each additional Awakening level. He is still level 84 at Awakening level 8, and this only affects the item levels of his drops." So either one statement is simply wrong OR Sirus is not considered to be a Conqueror, right? |
