Reflect damage? Anything else i need to know? Is there a list of bosses/mobs with it? Remove it!!

I think SC is WAAY to easy, And I love to play this game HC.

I evade all the reflect maps etc. ( I don't understand the mechanic is there but fine. ill just sell those maps or reroll when im playing ssf. )

But i just met the racecourse boss for the 50th time or something, But just found out he apperently reflects damage.

RIP ofc..

Is there a actual list of mobs/bosses that still reflect damage without the mapmods?
I can't be arsed to find out the reflect bosses by Ripping every time.
Or read up about all the content that PoE has to offer.
Because that way i don't have any time left to play the game ( compliment for PoE. )
I like to go in there and see what happens kind of play.

And about reflect itself:

IMO remove this shit from the game.
Its the only mechanic that you can't react to.

Every other mechanic even if its a Mapmod your character can't handle gives you a little time to react.
Yeh sometimes you get shotgunned etc.

This is a hack and slash game.
I wanna jump in and start smashing and avoid visual mechanics this game has to offer.
And no i don't like playing glasscannon builds.
I love that in PoE you need a bit of defence to not get randomly 1 shotted.
Playing glasscanons is not an option in PoE HC even without reflect!

Are there a lot of colors? is the boss holding his weapon high and screaming?
Get the F away from there.
You get hit by that. Then well shit i have to pay more attention to this next time.
You get killed by trash in the game? your playing on a to high map level i guess.
These are good game mechanics!

Even when you are tired and you play 5 maps tiers lower then you can handle.
just want to casual slap some monsters.
But when your spamming maps and you accidentaly read over the '' Mobs have reflect''.
You go in the game smash the first pack of monsters and you drop dead.
This is just bad game design.
Troll reflect bosses? bad game design.

No one enjoys this mechanic.

When dominus is slamming, There are a lot of visuals and time to react.
And even that you can survive with enough def.
Put a big mirror above the reflect mob/bosses head at least or something.

And speccing just for the reflect damage mod is a waste of the huge variety of gear and passives this game has to offer.

In my opinion if your character is not a glass canon you should be able to withstand reflect damage a bit. On 1 mob/boss at least!

But my level 75 defensive Earthquake juggernaut that requires 30sec to kill the average mapboss 1 shotting himself feels horrible.

This game has so much good challenging content and getting in high tier maps and doing endbosses require skill and knowledge.
The game does not need troll stuff like reflect to make the game challenging.

I don't enjoy it.

But, i have enjoyed finding ways around it when I was hard-pressed. (Totems, minions, etc...)

There's a outline in the wiki of each boss for each map and their attributes. You could, perhaps, make a table listing those with affixes that are dangerous for your build. (Yes, it'd take some work.)

For builds that I know can survive or are not bothered by map-affixed relect, of course I'm not worried. Whenever I encounter such with a build that might be vulnerable, I sell the map or scrub it.

Just curious, but would a Totem Support work for that particular build? Something you could switch out when running a map with a problematic boss?
Or you go DoTs.
It could be that he only reflects phys. I've done dozens of Racecourse maps and never noticed anything unusual in there, not with moltenstrike at least. Although I've also done it on cyclone zerk and didn't notice anything then either.

Maybe it's a phase thing and now with 4x more health, you can't down him in 0.5 sec so you see a reflect phase.

I have to agree with the OP on one thing. The wiki is not always up to date, and I went to look up Racecourse in the wiki, but the current-version page for this map has no boss details - it's blank.

There's no link to the original map description, but if you redo your search and click on the original map description, from Atlas of Worlds, there's a boss section that includes centaur reflect phase.

This doesn't work for all the maps - some have changed dramatically since Atlas of Worlds, a number of them have totally different bosses there now, layouts are different, boss behaviour is different, etc.

So before you dismiss the kid with "Let me wiki that for you", take a look at the actual wiki because it's sort of a mess, and if you still insist on sending them to the wiki, then take some time to spiff up the wiki so it's actualized and functional.

So.... you say that SC is way TOO easy, and when you die in HC you get mad and want the game made easier for you by removing stuff that kills you?
ROFL!!

If you get mad in HC because you died, then HC isn't for you.No matter how elitist you want to sound.

It's called hardcore for a reason.
To answer your question:

1) Racecourse Boss - The bull charging guy. he has an aura that turns off and on and for reflect. Best to let him activate it once then burn him down after it goes off.

2) Labyrinth (all) - Cold Lieutenant - He has an aura that goes on and off as well. It'a a small grey circle around his feet. As with race course, best to let him use it once then burn him down.

3) Atziri (all versions)
: Passive Effect: Damage Reflection
2% of Physical Damage taken reflected to Attacker
2% of Elemental Damage taken reflected to Attacker
This is ALL damage in all phases... so if you have a nutso build dealing millions of damage you may want to remove a gem.

In addition to this atziri also has here mirror phase which is 100% reflect if you pick the "wrong" copy of her - The one holding the mirror.

I believe these are the only reflect mods that appear naturally in game. The rest would be reflect rolled on maps.

Bethesda is known for having good ideas and terrible realization of them. GGG is a Bethesda subsidiary or what?
How are you supposed to learn what kills you if not by getting killed by it? What's the point of HC if things that can kill you get removed?

FWIW, the reflect phase of the Racecourse bull-boss is very apparent (once you've encountered it and recognize it), and it's there to make the fight interesting. Removing it would be a terrible move.
