Can we do something about trading in PoE
|
The thing is: if they truly wanted to make gear progression slower they need to make restriction to USE THE GEAR not restrictions to ACQUIRE THE GEAR. That`s why current trade is simple bad, it actually don`t achieve anything besides unnecessary frustration.
An example of a restriction to USE GEAR: 1- Ilv removed from the game. 2- Gear bases now have a level requirement of 1,5,10,15,...,100). 3- Tier rolls are now based on the lvl requirement of the item, lvl 100 items can roll t1-t7, lvl 95 t2-t8, lvl 90 t3-t9, etc... With a system like this, players would not be able to fully gear themselves with mirror tier gear at level 70 (provided they have the currency to do so). they would first require to grind all the way to lvl 100 to be able to equip those items. This would also make so people try to find upgrades more often (every 5 levels) if they want to stay always with the best possible items, providing more "gear cycling". |

" I prefer another solution, that items are 'used up while being used'. All items wear out after some time, breaks, and can no longer be used after that point. It is not possible to repair items. GGG would have to up drop rates, but it would mean that easy trading, or at least EASIER trading could be implemented. It would however be a huge change, cost a lot to implement (the rebalance in itself would be a nightmare), lose players, generally be a big financial risk, so that's not going to happen either. " I'd love it, but that design only works in a game designed around gameplay. It would not function well in POE at all, I doubt any High level POE player would like weapons that degrade over time, given the grind investment in acquiring 'wealth' in POE and endgame success. |

" Good point The stance on 'easy trade' was started back when Standard league was still 'trade league' . Now it's husk league. There is no more economy to protect there. Legion broke that proper with the flood of loot. So honestly, GGG needs to revise that old and absolute stance, as the thing they try and protect, is dead. Temp leagues will always be temp economies. So make a auction house, and balance it with drop rate reduction of expensive items. The streamers will still flood everything otherwise anyway. The 'economy' is dead. Just accept it and give us QoL. " Honestly I'd be fine with breaking gear but only if you could repair it like in Diablo2. Having to re-6link for example is absolute cancer and you know that. ::::::::▄▄▄▀▀▀▄▄███▄::::::::::::::

" Standard was never part of GGGs trade policies. It was always the 'dump league' (their words). Its only purpose was as a place to dump items after a temp league finished to avoid people complaining that they lost their 'phat lewt'. |

" That is actually irrelevant. That a handful of people get to end game in a day has absolutely no importance compared to the 100.000s that doesn't. The current trade policy is to protect the game experience for those, especially the majority who doesn't trade or otherwise participate in any social aspect of the game (and no, they aren't not trading because it is too cumbersome. They just don't trade). Risking making the game unplayable for the majority of their players by implementing an auction house (with the game balance adjustments, fewer drops, that inevitably will lead to) would be a huge financial risk, so an auction house will simply not happen. |

" Being able to repair them would defeat the purpose of having items break. The main problem for the PoE economy to be able to sustain easy trading is that good items doesn't leave the economy again. For a game economy to work, items has to leave the economy at around the same rate they're generated. EVE Online is a good example of a game where they've done that. |

" Interesting claim, can't agree with that tbh. Where did you get that idea from? Pls elaborate why it is that way. ::::::::▄▄▄▀▀▀▄▄███▄::::::::::::::
