My Watchstone just disappeared after the latest patch or whatever just a little while ago

As my first Watchstone I got the red one of "Lira Arthain". In the square of the atlas screen it still says "Obtained", but it is gone. I can't see it anywhere.

BUT the effects it had where it was last socketed are still there. So now my maps are still a higher tier, without any Watchstones socketed for the area.

Is this working as intended? Did I misunderstand how the stones are supposed to work?

EDIT: Correction, the whole Citadel of the area where it was socketed simply disappeared off the atlas lol. So I guess the Watchstone is still socketed but as the Citadel is simply gone for whatever reason, I can't see or access it.

EDIT: Obviously not a bug. SORRY! Misunderstood how any of this works. Delete pls.

Is that region influenced? When influence goes on a region of the atlas the Citadel disappears until you kill the boss that influenced that area.

Oh wow, how did I miss that mechanic? I listened very carefully to all the dialogue to make sure I understand how it works... Thanks for the info!

If a mod sees this, can they delete this? Obviously not a bug, sorry!

You didn't miss anything. There was no info telling us how it works. As you, I had the same problem.

Play maps, play maps, play maps highly anticipating my first watchstone drop... nothing. Finally, after running my first T4, I get the Citadel quest, Zana, and the watchstone tower. Oooh. Now maybe a watchstone will drop. Play maps, play maps, play maps highly anticipating my first watchstone drop... nothing. Then, when I go to run yet another map, and become dismayed I have no master mission to run, I notice the watchstone tower that took forever to get, disappeared.

Ask guild mates if they have any ideas. Nada. Come here, and everyone and their brother/sister are bug-reporting missing watchstone towers and lost watchstones.

Why is this? GGG provided no info and the mechanic is unintuitive. First you wonder how you get the towers. Then when you get one, the tower seems to randomly disappear from the user interface. That's dumb, frustrating, and creates a lot of spam in the bug report forum.

GGG needs to get the word out on how this mechanic works. Because last night when it happened to me I quit playing in frustration and bug reported it. Binge watched some Walking Dead on Netflix instead of playing. I _was_ having fun playing until the tower disappeared from the UI. Still haven't had a watchstone drop, and what's the point in continuing to play when, if one decided to now drop, there is no place to put it?

Edit.... and checking the forums, people are still bugging this.

If the watch stones disappear and you need to fight the boss again do you get them back? Also how do you pull the boss again? I was told and heard from ghazzy and ziggyd that you run 3 maps and they'll appear I ran 5-6. Even steelmage said it. What do you do to get your watch stones back and the area that now has become influenced and how to pull the boss? I went by the mechanics I was told buy higher up players. This new Atlas system is a bigger hassle then anything.

This is some major bullshit... i put them all in one region, the region got influenced and now I am sitting here without any watchstone (can't get more cause all regions must be level 1 to get annother one) and the boss of the influenced region is allways tier 14+ which i cant fight yet... how am i supposed to continue without farming white tier maps to get enough currency to be able to kill that boss?? Change this PLS... very disappointing to lock yourself out of content cause you did one misstake that you don't even know about

same shit here.. i don't even have those red maps, not even the white variant, and they won't drop from anywhere cause they are all 14+ while my other maps are white.
Same situation here, had 3 watchstones placed and while dropping 4th all the 3 dissapeared. Area seems to be under the influence as all aps are now T11+..
This is stupid GGG, please what were your game designers thinking when they came up with this !!!!!!

So like everyone else, I have a Watchstone missing. However, I found it sort of.
As I understand it, watchtowers vanish when an area is under influence, I guess because I have to find that slayer.

Firstly, I ran the t1 pier. It behaved like a t1 pier monster level 68 etc. However, I got the taunting from Baran, even though the entire sector was upgraded. I assumed I would need to get a t4 pier, like the old shaped maps, to progress. Even more strangely I got a t5 villa map drop from my t1 pier map. So my t1 map has a monster level of 68 but is behaving like a t4 map for map drops ?.

So I am like, great I can fix this. I get to fight barren, and sure enough, the watchtower IN the map shows an orange stone on it. But here's the kicker. It's still not on my atlas ... AND... When interacting with the watchtower itself, it just takes me to my atlas.

So, the area is permanently upgraded, to the next tier of maps. I can get to the watchtower, but can't interact with it(just send me to atlas with no Watchtower showing at my map, even though I am staring at the tower). My area is NO longer under influence, and I STILL can't unsocket my Watchstone from the tower(because I can't see it on the map or interact with it directly). As mentioned if I even GO to the tower itself, I cant socket or unsocket anything, just takes me to atlas...

Either this is a serious bug, or your game designer has lost the plot !!!!

Please fix this. I love Path of Exile, but this is now bordering on unplayable......

UPDATE. Ok, this is a bug. I closed my client down, reload. and went back to the instance. Now i can get the watchstone and tower is on the atlas. So if the above happens to you, restart POE client. Hopefully GGG will fix this asap
