Ranger's ascendancies pale in comparison to Elementalist for DPS purposes (several-hundred % lower). But Deadeye gets the pierce built into its ascendancies, so it doesn't need to anoint pierce on the amulet. You'd actually be better off as Scion taking Ele and Deadeye passives than Deadeye (but still several-hundred % lower than Ele)... which is sad.
