meanwhile GGG anounce new league will have 10 new item shards :/
I honestly wish all currency items would come with shards, but all those shards need to have a spot in the currency tab. At least 4 of those new shards will be for the new boss exalted orbs.

They can. Oils trade up 3:1.

oops. guess i shouldn't have quit the league at 3 weeks and i would have figured that out. or even if i had just guessed.

i stand corrected...

well. regardless i wonder if the nifty new "crafting" features of the next league will be available to mere mortals in some non-trival way.

lol

Now just ask yourself, how many clear oils you need to make gold one. Or at least silver.

And youll get very obvious answer why you (and many others) quit Blight on its 3rd week. One of the answers.
PoE is definitely in need of some "currency reform"

--Consolidate similar league-currencies that do similar things, into one type

--Most currencies will be atlas-related

--Maps won't have tiers anymore (or will they?) This might free up some design space for the map tab concept. Put all the atlas-related currencies near at hand on the new map tab.

--Most frags in the frag tab are atlas-related. Do something, exile! Well, you say, for starters let's add space for charged, enriched, and pure breachstones that lets them stack and store... How bout moving the sac and mortal frags to the new expanded map tab. Atlas markers go directly on the map tab (if they're replacing sextants with watchstones, that's a no-brainer).

--Oils and essences "stack" and "upgrade" using the same 3:1 mechanic. Maybe the essence tab should work more like a double-sided card you can flip: one side essences, other side oils. Use the upgrade button to auto-condense whichever currency form you have face-up at the moment, then hit Esc. Radio button or subtab or whtever to swap views between Oils and Essences.

--Let us pick 4 current normal-sized tabs to merge (a one-way operation) into a single quad-tab. Shift-click the tops of 4 normal-sized tabs and activate your one-time Quadinator and boom, one tidy quad tab that inherits premium status if one of your normal tabs was premium.

--Currency auto-sort. All currency objects have metadata that allow them to stack into particular stacks. Ctrl-click any currency stack from your inv with your stash open to any page, and the currency will auto-allocate into the proper tab and space for it, or it will stack into the largest existing stack anywere in your stash. Hey, it works for maps - it can work for any item in the game.

--please increase the default stack size of all currencies. Those currently stacking at 40 should probably stack at 50 or 100. Higher currencies that stack at 10 might benefit from stacking at 20 or 25. The exceptions are those currencies that auto mash into higher denominations, e.g. scroll fragments, shards, and whatnot.

--Harbies please drop shards in more coherent bundles. 3x here, 4x there, makes for a lot of screen clutter and entities. Please mash your shards before you die so we don't have to scurry all over the beach thanks
