PoE 2 needs an Auction House

I really hope they do add one, tradining is too much of a pain in the ass for people to get involved in.
Making it more accessible would really bring more players in the market, rather than people just vendoring very valuable items because they cant be bothered to torture themselves with 3rd party platforms.

Or at the very least a npc that sells the other currency, ie exalts etc

Trade Definately needs an overhaul, and 4.0 would be a good time to implement it. An AH is going too far. I like analogies, but all the good ones coming to mind are political. Cry me a river, you aren’t getting one. Anyone who played D3 saw the market flooded with hundreds of thousands of items. It was ridiculous. People constantly spent more time on the AH than playing the game. People still do in PoE, but nowhere near the same scale.

No, change needs to happen. I would be fine with the in game browser Chris mentioned at Exilecon with 2 other additions: (1) Filter for people in afk mode and DND and (2) a system where sellers are not required to use a portal to make a trade. It’s too common sellers are in an area where portals are disabled or not worth the time/portal commitment to handle the trade and ignore the buyer.

Sounds interesting. Hate the guys posting smth for trade and than not showing up for a week or more. And you just don't know what to do. As for AH i can't say how it will change the game. I remember AH in D3 after it's release and it was horrible. AS the game in general though. I play Neverwinter Online as well and AH works great there and the prices for items are kept ok if they are not uotdated (but it is pure MMO).
In ESO there is an interesting system btw. They don't have classic AH there. There are Trade Guilds you have to join if you want to trade. The comission for selling items go the guild and used to buy trading spots (they are all about the continent). Some spots are better and cost more because there is a big flood of pelayers all the time (in big towns especially). And a player can buy an item directly from a trading spot visiting it. And it is not granted that you guild will have a trading spot next week - you can be late and all spaots are already bought out or you can just simply loose bargaining for the spot you want. So simtetimes you trade via your guild, sometimes you don't. Depends on the guild and people responsible for gaining trading spots. And what i mean to say, it is not necessary to launch a classic AH, there are different ways to improve trading if you work on this issue and don't forget
to consult with the community.

yeah, but poe.trade is just the same AH flooded with thousands of items. The only difference that you may have hudge problems to buy the item for this "AH" beacues the dude simply is a douchebag and dosn't want to answer and another guy just dosn't show up online.

An AH would really be nice. Especially at the begin of a league I could easily use it to manipulate parts of the market. Now, unfortunately the progress takes lot of time. To do this within minutes or seconds would be great.
I can only support the implementation of an AH as a tool for better and faster market control. I could get richer with less effort and in less time. I already worked for me in WOW. I miss this easy way of making currency in the game (my profession has a background in market economy).

This whole theme reminds me of people crying out for sozialims and realizing afterwards, that it may not have been such a good idea. But for me personally, who is already rich and know how to do it, the AH would be perfekt.
