You realize that 4.0 is not right after 3.9? We're likely to see 3.12 before we see 4.0. Even 3.15 isn't out of the question.

D4 isn't coming 2020 and if it does its not finished and i aint buying it, tbh i'd be surprised if it turns up 2021 but i think that is the earliest we'd see it but i'm expecting 2022 because blizzard and all.

Yes, I already posted that on another thread. Since it'll be a year plus between 3.9.0 and 4.0.0 iff (if and only if) GGG is still going to churn out another challenge league or 3 (every 13 weeks for the PoE junkies to get their racing fix) then we will have a 3.9.10, 3.9.11, and 3.9.12 before the magical/infamous (impossible to tell until we can play it) 4.0.0 drops.

As I've already stated I've been riding the PoE arpg wave since the failure of D3 to keep the arpg torch going for me. It's been a wild ride from one extreme to the other, from the lowest level of playing hell with a fast moving build that got absolutely crushed by the leapers in the sun/moon temple zones because it was PoE:The Desync Years edition and with massive rubber-banding (I actually had to reduce move speed to get through it), to a just before Christmas high of 6 linking a chest in only 21 fuses, to going PoE mad and grinding out 4 Oni-Goroshi swords in Incursion League (I still have all 4 in my IL remove-only tab as proof). Through thick and thin I've ridden the PoE merry-go-round knowing I'll never ever run out of new builds to play or ever catch a brass ring (as a filthy casual I will need the mythical 39½ ft. pole to ever catch it meaning no level 100 build for me ever).

So GGG is going to have to rework the PoE netcode and/or give me an option to route my client/server Internet link to avoid traversing Networklayer nodes in PoE 4.0 for me to continue riding the PoE merry-go-round. My days of playing with times of bad QoP (and some days not playing at all do to horrendously bad QoP to both WDC and Dallas realms) are running out and 4.0 has got to deliver a much better (not just 1 or 2 incremental performance tweaks) quality of play for me to stay with GGG. D4 is not and never will be a factor in my decision to "play PoE forever" or stop. It's squarely and clearly up to GGG to code for quality of play in 4.0 or it's the end of the ride for me.
