Did they nerf the ex drop rate

Compared to Legion yes... compared to any other league no.

I dropped 44 exalts last league in Legion in SSF.

This league 6.

If last league was your first league I'm sorry. Those drop rates are not typical. They went crazy on drop rates for currency probably to test what that does to player counts. They've done similar tests in the past with leagues like Perandus where uniques rained from the sky.

Just a little update. I am now at 9 ex drop....with 3 yesterday. Honestly, I think pure RNG is a borken mechanic. I remember playing that game that had a "progressive" RNG. The more time the RNG wa not triggering, the more the RNG went up. Then when it triggers, it goes back down.

Anyway, I still enjoy very much the league. I am at about 5 hours of play to reach 32 challenges. Then it will be in the hands of mister-RNG again... The worse one feeling wise is the rare blight monster. I am stuck since days with one left...hehehe. Then the next RNG-fight, I will have to find Mr Aul in the caves...I do not have much hope on that one.

For me, this league has been pretty good. First league I ever accumulated more than a few Exalts. I'm sitting on 16 and I feel RICH!. It's all luck. I've been farming Burial Chambers. Spent 110 c so far on maps. About 100 c on Chisels. Now have 16 Exalts in the bank.

Pretty sure your observation is correct and they nerfed the drop rate. Why would the Exalts cost 200 chaos now and before they cost 130? I think they are trying to get people to do less trading and more crafting. So they made everything cost more but gave us more options for crafting our own items.

What are you even talking about? Is this your first league in POE?
Who made everything cost more? And what costs are you referring to?
The exalted orb drop rate is the same as it's been every league. With Legion maybe as an exception. Maybe.

The last two leagues the ex price was in the range 160-190 if I remember well, same as this league. I do believe the last league what put the ex a little bit higher than it should was the crafting needs and the price of weapos, spiked gloves and devoto. This league, the overpricing seems to be Minions geared related but not as limited than last league. But I may be wrong because you can do very fine with pretty cheap gear.

This league also seems to have a lack of the league resource (oils and Blight maps) and it may drive up the price too. Splinters, scarabs and fossils were plentiful. In fact, it is the first time in 6 leagues that I see that kind of rarity (Before I do not know, I was not playing).

Been playing for years. It was a steady 130 chaos to 1 ex ratio for a long time then made a large jump up to 200 chaos per 1 ex. The cost in just about everything went up. Less exalts are being dropped, meaning we have less currency, meaning everything cost more.
