I need to know - Uniques

im runin maps with around 160%qual and 50% quant. find at least 2-3 uniques a day, but unfortunately.. all 30something of them i found so far have been shitty.
A stranger like no otherther,
Faced the wall of the Umbra,

@Yastro
I've been playing for a week and found 2 uniques. 1 low level and 1 no level, and they are very helpful with starting alts too!

Nail on the head with this post.

Many 'uinques' are described as 'builders', ie: you can create an entire build around the unique. Facebreaker being one of the oldest and most classic examples.

My first and only ever Unique in PoE was getting a Facebreaker off Hillock at the start of the game in Closed Beta (that Character went to about level 65, which was the Open Beta equivalent of about level 75). In open Beta, level 26 with shed loads of IIQ/IIR and shed loads of farming and no Uniques.

The idea of just getting a (Builder) Unique from Hillock was actually a very good one though.

If Hillock had a guaranteed Builder Unique drop for all new starters, and that the Builder drop was character related, then you would see a lot more people perfectly happy with the randomness of later RNG irrationality. And this would occur at each of the three Hillock visit in the game (but not for repeat farming of that level).

There has been a recent trend to make new Builder Uniques that are all for level 60+, such as the new CI-replacement chest which is a bit late in the day to 'start' a build. So now we see people 'planning' to one day own a 60+ Builder Unique and spending all their Passive Points in readiness for something that will likely never drop, and then advising other people to do the same.

These Builder Uniques should be named something different to Uniques as they are completely different items to simple Uniques which just offer one random minor uber-bonus. Or what people call the 'shitty' Uniques.

I could waffle for hours about this, but hopefully you get the idea from the basic outline.

inb4 - everyone can have any unique anyway (except the 'valuable' 60+ ones) because of the trading system, You can pick up a facebreaker for peanuts any day of the week, so if you say they are keeping them rare 'in-game' for a reason as your reason to disparage my two-cents, then that's kind-of, well, absurd.
Rub salt in my open wounds why don't you ; ;
@ColdDrizzle
Prepare some toast, because you are about to have a ton of jelly. :D

I too have been getting really lucky with uniques (and the most Quantity find I've used was 26%, Rarity around 20%) since Open Beta started. I also had a really wierd coincidence happen to me THREE separate times. I would be playing in a 2-person party with a friend of mine, he would take a break and leave the party, and then within 5 minutes or less I would find a unique. The third time it happened I was just like "AGAIN?!".

Here's what I've found since Open Beta started (I have even more, but the other ones I got by trading for them)
I have 160 rarity and 38 quantity..

I've found about 1/2 the uniques as you at a slower pace. consider yourself lucky.

My favorite find is still my Sadmina's touch off fire fury @ lvl 2 on my first character. great feeling.
@Pietas_
Pssst (he's an Alpha member) shhhhh tho... tin hat at the ready. Mum's the word. I wasn't here, right
I run around with 30 IIQ and 234 IIR.

I usually find at least one unique a day. I've found some very good uniques and some very bad uniques.

Best one I found was avandarius or whatever it's called, I wear it now

I always find Ondars clasps. I've found over 5.
