Is regeneration counted as recovery?

What i mean is, if your at your maximum amount of leech/second e.g. leeching 20% life per second, then increasing life recovery should (?) let you recover 30% life from leech per second i.e. it's applied after the caps.

The answer is no. To increase the 20% max leech you're talking about, you need to increase maximum total recovery per second from life leech. Increasing other life recovery will not affect your leech. Increasing other recovery (from regen, flask affect, life on hit, life on kill, etc) is good though, just separate from life leech.

incorrect. life recovery mods affect all the recovery including leech (no matter the leech cap)

Your statement is technically correct, but ...

First, only "increased life recovery rate" worded exactly that way, or on a Watcher's Eye, "increased life recovery rate while affected by Vitality" will boost the leech cap. If there are other mods that work, I haven't seen them. More specifically defined recoveries will not. In the former case, that's limited to the elder belt mod afaik, and the latter is a WE, so overall this is a pretty uncommon mod.

Second, the answer to his question about achieving 30% leech cap is no, because the increased recovery rate is not 20% (as an example) added to 20% leech cap for 40% leech cap. You get 20% of your 20%, in that example, so an axtra 4% for a final leech cap of 24%.

Hope that clarification helps. :-)

I think that makes sense for me.

So as an example (assume i have the correct recovery bonus) I am leeching at my leech cap and gaining 2000 HP per second via leech. If i was to apply a 50% "increased life recovery rate" I would now be recovering (not leeching, specifically) at a total rate of 3000 HP per second?

Technically it doesn't increase the cap or the leech rate (which is still fixed at 2000) but takes the answer to the leech equation and plugs it as a factor into a different recovery equation to get the 3000.

I'm understanding now why "the baron" zombie build i tried when it first released felt lackluster, I didnt understand all this leech cap stuff. That and having mediocre aura's.
