Monoliths > Tower Defence
At this point ive run a great deal of white maps with both features in them. Im finding Monoliths fun and rewarding, and the TD the complete opposite. TD is not terrible, just feels so out of place, kinda like how the incursion mini maps were, just worse.

I like it a lot more than I thought I would. I was expecting it to be janky and convoluted, but it's been pretty seamless and just seems to work. Then again I also spend a decent amount of time playing games like Dungeon Defenders and Deathtrap, so I'm used to the genre mashup.

" I'm not playing summoner, but while leveling through the story in group I notice I was getting carried hard by them the entire time. Does it scale well into endgame? It's a new skill. You have to practice it. Eventually, you wont even notice the interface... you'll just do it. Right now it feels kind of clunky. Normal. Keep practicing. Might want to run some lower level areas for a while until your reflexes are built up.

i kind of enjoy the towers but its much slower paced and much less rewarding than legion monoliths indeed.

" It's not terribly bad, though there are some... quibbles. Some ranged rares will shoot the pump, and it WILL take damage. I've only died to ranged mobs because - as ALWAYS - visual spam. 10x shaman fireballs coming as a single object is not fun. When you've got four or more different branches coming off the pump it gets nigh on impossible to keep them all cleared. Some mobs - like the rolling wheel dudes from The Climb don't follow the paths at all, they take the most direct route. If that happens to be a spawn point very close to the pump, you loose almost immediately. Some mobs randomly wander off the path quite some distance and get lost, though they don't go aggro until you find them. Patch Notes 3.15:
Fixed a bug where players believed the game was playable. This has been corrected and made retroactive. Patch Notes 3.19: Fixed a bug where players adapted to 3.15. This bug cannot be corrected, so we have implemented a 90% reduction in item access as a punishment. |

I'm not really liking it. Especially when you get 20 fireballs thrown at your character from off-screen. Too busy working on towers and killing the other side of the TD line and bam: character dead.
