Phew what's that smell?? Oh it's just 3.8

Well its 24 hours away, whether you wanted it or not. I for one, am already looking forward to 3.9 news.

As for 3.8, which gets a hard pass from me, I do find this little tidbit fascinating. Especially the verb part, which may have some eerie foreshadowing...

I do wonder how 3.8 will perform in regards to previous leagues? For me this one looks to be one of the worst, so bad in fact, I dont even want to play. I will certainly check in and see how it goes, and maybe I will be totally wrong here. But the question will remain. Will 3.8 have "blighted" the game overall?

Personally I do want this league to perform badly, if only so that GGG will take the lesson that the further they stray from the arpg mechanics that make PoE good, the worse it is for the health of the game.

I really do hope that some people enjoy the league, I dont wish ill on the community, but rather the overall takeaway to GGG is to get back to their "roots" (no pun intended)

What the hell is up with everyone shitting on Diablo 3, and then crying about how bad they want to play Diablo 3? I heavily appreciate the fact that this game tries to be original instead of just being every other ARPG like people seem to want.

I hate the idea of the league mechanic as much as anyone but there's a lot more to 3.8 than muh tower defense.

Like what? Other than the usual massive balance pendulum swings, what has been added that impacts the core of the game? Nothing. (If untrue please let me know)

Buffing the hell out of some skills and passives(ascendancy), while nerfing previous league iterations puts the players in gameplay hell.

Admittedly the title is a bit trollish, but the content is pretty straightforward.

Basically stop with this gimmicky shit. Catch em all, table top, now tower defense. Enough.

But time and statistics will tell the tale.

Perhaps the community isnt what it was years ago (I know it isnt). The gritty PoE, is now a throbbing testicle, with tower defense icons, and a player decked out in some weird glowing fantasy forest mtx.

Nobody's ever going to figure out what the next fun cool thing is if Grinding Gear isn't allowed to do anything but "Reskinned Breach".

I think this could be an interesting shift in how shit goes, and it'll be better than Legion either way. Gawd Legion was boring. At least Blight needs you to execute some minor degree of thought beyond "how do I offscreen the most possible things?"

I mean no one is saying dont innovate, but Jesus at least remember it's an arpg game (looting and killing monsters)

You could say Legion was boring, but its participation and retention were very good. There are reasons for this...

opening to the asian markets sure has some drawbacks. they cannot have dark and gritty.

although, when you see asians in europe they're really fascinated with out castles and dungeons and torture chambers.

i don't think they expect to find purple unicorns and heros in colorful wings in there.
