Mana Leech

The general philosophy is that mana sustain for spellcasters should be something a player has to think about and find some way to manage

Guys i am really struggling in here. Can you please help me to find that oppressive meta mana leeching spellcaster build that pretty much forced developers to step forward and stop this build from totally dominating a next league.

I have been asking google, asking reddit, asking myself, my wife, my friends, my grandma, my dog and a parrot yet no answer was given, tho dog had some insight on this matter. That motherfucking build is elusive as yours Soviet Union sleeping cell agent. A real spy n shit.

Maybe you guys seen it? Or should i call a company that puts a missing person's face on a milk?

Hello, has anyone seen a mana leeching meta build?

Yeah, this league it may be worth to build a boat. Since the amount of spell-caster tears will be oceanic! :-)
MY CHALLENGES ARE DONE ON HC, IT'S NOT SC GUYS!
If your question is why does a development decision like this happen, it's not because it's OP or "meta" it's because the system was boring and they are trying to add some thought to it to make it interesting. Have you ever looked at mana regen or mana on kill and thought they were a worthwhile stat? Have you ever equipped a mana flask in a map? Why would you when a miniscule amount of mana leech makes everything else redundant? It's not meant to be a nerf, it's meant to add new choices to the game.
Sure this type of change is a little heavy handed but if you want to see the super dominant spell builds using leech try looking back before the warlords change, this round of changes seems more for consistency then actively nerfing.

At least now they are providing better alternatives to leech for people to use so I for one am looking forward to playing a caster... Well I'm going with mines so wouldn't leech anyway but they will likely need mana recovery more so then most builds anyway.

Pretty much everything is being nerfed to some degree. I seriously doubt it will happen but if it happens that the ascendency distribution is more even across the board after all this, then I guess their balance would be successful.

At least from the manifesto, GGG seems to be trying to slowly reverse some of the power creep. The life/mana leech nerfs suck for spellcasters but seriously, what reason would there be to play anything else if spellcasters can do literally everything that melee can AND have the advantage of being ranged? At least now the archetypes of melee being tanky and ranged casters being relatively squishy is starting to draw their advantages/disadvantages instead of just ranged being superior 10/10 scenarios.

Yes and yes.

If they want to force different use of items, talents, they need to delete all existences of old items/versions/enablers. Players will just stick to the next best thing.

At least they're giving us new support with inspirational charges, which might be solid, and more interesting mana nodes. Realistically, I'd just go EB+MoM and tell mana flask to sod off.
Problem is it actually a big nerf, because now you will have to invest in stats like mana from kill or what not at the same places you normally have spell damage....

So you get nothing you previously didnt have for the exchange of removing your damage....

So even though they want actual other options to be viable.....its just a big nerf, and if that is the intend, just call it that way, dont say...oh we want spell casters to have to think about mana....you say

We want spell casters to remove dps stats for mana becuz the previous free mana was unintended....and so making spellcasters weaker in the process..

Nothing wrong with it though, just saying they should call it the way it is
EB casters are gonna be the norm now. Just get ES leech instead and get some high es body armour/shields and maybe a helm.

You should leech about as much as with regular mana and you get full mana reservation as wel.
To be fair, currently mana flasks are useless. By the time you hit maps you won't even need to think about the mana; it's like "why is it even there" 'cause no one even notices it.

So I kind of understand why they decided to do something about it.
