Constant Game Crash Poe and PS4 Error CE-34878-0
I have two accounts (mike102033) pc and ps4 (Incle10203)
When I'm playing my game and in mid run I keep getting the error: path of exile ps4 error ce-34878-0 -Then it proceeds to disconnect me and the game crashes - I have checked for the latest update of the software. Contacted Sony (followed their suggestions) Which include reinstalling the entire system. Upon checking the forums apparently this is been an ongoing issue. It was stated that it would be solved with the latest update from you Grinding gears. Not the case. The most frustrating part of it is that I could be in the middle of a good run or trying to run the lab to simply loose any progress or items in the lab run or map runs should it be the last portal, and when i go back in - I get the death penalty loosing 10% of my experience on top. I had spend money and gladly came back to the game once I found that it was on ps4 and started streaming the game on occasions. Even got a good amount of people to join into playing the game. But after experiencing the constant game crashes on the ps4 I decided that it was probably not worth to continue playing on ps4 or Xbox as xbox players are also facing this same problem. (At least the ones i know or found in other threads) Going back to the pc version of your game I ran into the similar frustrating scenario My pc account would crash occasionally although not as much and with no error - simply the game crashing. (I have re-installed the program on 3 pcs and ran telnet checks between the gateway and my pc locations) (All 3 pcs having the lastest software and hardware with a high end Nvidia cards) The Telnet and the gateway seemed to be working as normal - My guess is that the problem may not be on the router gateways, but from the gateways to the end point of the main servers location. I have tried all the different gateways available on the selection login screen. The one big difference is that on the PC version, I do not crash as often as I do on the PS4 I could safely say that every map run or normal run I crash at least 1 to 2 times in a good day on the PS4. In the worst days the game can decide to crash at least 6 to 7 times during 1 run which can easily kill my maps my current download speeds from my provider are at 113.5mbps and 17mbps for uploads I have since even tried hardwired my PS4 thinking it was due to it being wireless - But this has not yielded any different results. Even though I knew this was not the problem I still followed these steps: I then did a bit more research - I decided to upgrade my internet service (Wanting to ensure It was not a routing or routing related issue on my end) I since then decided to contact my ISP and after going through a good number of channels I spoke with a On site engineer who explained that he could run a few test between the routers of my location to the location of the gateway. He did and all of the routers owned by the isp are in good working condition. He mentioned at this point all he can do is request I contact the game developers or Technical support. As the problem could be else on that side -------------------Added information in regards the problem 1. The main platform I'm having a problem with is PS4 (Although, this is not limited to not having problems on the pc) 2. This happens during the usual time I play which are 5pm eastern time to 11pm eastern time zone 3. The gateway / location - is the Washington DC last I check (But I have tried all of them) 4. The error does not always happen during teleporting, It actually happens when running through the map - "Error CE-34878-0" 5. I crash back to the console screen 6. I used to be wireless and switched to hardwired (It made no difference) 7. The connection I use is a wired cable connection (Business class service)(Spectrum service) Download speeds of 113mbps and uploads speeds of 17mbps 8. I do have 2 PS4 systems in which the problem happens. One is newer as I recently purchased it thinking the problem maybe that the older PS4 was no longer up to the game standards. 9. Something is definitely wrong with both your PS4s. I'm on a fat I got at release. I crash like once or twice a week, and I'm playing every day.
Need a new signature, cuz name change. I dunno though. I guess this seems fine. Yeah, this is good.

unlikely - in any case there shouldn't be any crashing - just the fact you are crashing once a week is a tell sign that something is wrong. I have recently bought a brand new ps4 - so now I have 3 ps4 and all yield the same issue. I do not believe is the system.
Please, take time to read through post, before posting an empty basis with no knowledge of the troubleshooting i took before heading to posting here. Now, the reason I bought the 3 ps4 is not for troubleshooting this problem - I'm starting to move away from this game due to the crashes. Still love the game is just not something I want to continue to get frustrated over. I do hope it gets better in the future. Thank you for at least giving some source of reply although a useless one. " This has nothing to do with the individual PS4. The issue is basically that PS4 (probably the same with Xbox) doesn't have the processing power to handle the game in its current state. Too much information for its little brain to handle essentially. I've even tried turning the ps4 quality to the lowest setting (potato mode) and it doesn't improve the situation. The first and extremely obvious but likely extremely costly too is to upgrade the servers, they're clearly trash. The second option is to improve the base stability of the game by removing some of the graphical strain. The third option is just uninstall and play something else and watch PoE die. |

I wanted to give an update on this problem - The issue seems to be alleviated after a few patches later and the release of Blight still happens on occasions. Thankfully not as much.

Have you tried turning the sound off in game? It didn't remove all of my crashes, but it did help limit them. Still crashes more than any other game I play.

How do you mean turn sound off?
Does the sound makes an issue? I keep crashing alot as well. I play always with a friend online. We both have fast cabled internet. Sometimes we are at exact the same spot and i crash, he does not. Funny thing is i have a PS4 Pro and he has a normal PS4. The game is fun, but the crashes are not. If the crashes would go we will play many more hours and invite friends to come along. But if the crashes keep going on we are forced to play something else because it is very frustrating. also to lose all EXP when i die because of the game, not because i messed up. |

I've never had that error in Poe since starting on XBox in Feb of 2018. (Or somewhere around there.)
I play on XBox and connect to the Washington node on a 1 Gb connection. I've had one or two crashes since Blight started and have played every day, multiple hours, running Labs, Maps, and Delve. I have, however, experienced "crashfests." Most notably during my first play of Abyss and then with Delve. But, most of that was GGG's fault. For some other crash-related issues, the fault was my connection and my router/modem, specifically. Once my ISP got involved, troubleshooted my connection, replaced my gear with brand-new-out-of-the-box-not-refurbished-crap, that was mostly the end of any PoE crash issues. I also troubleshooted my internal network and made sure that was cleaned up as well. (High-grade, ISP Approved, technician-supplied and installed splitters/cabling/etc.) But, all of this is not a "I don't have problems, it must be your fault" kind of response. :) PoE is a darn finicky and very possessive and hungry game. It's also very reliant on high-quality connections from one's console all the way to the instanced servers. Everything has to be greased with lube and "Best Wishes" for the darn thing to run without a hitch. It's only afterwards that the other issues, like trying to cram a huge hungry game into a console, come into play. Some of this you can check on your own, but some of it is entirely out of your hands. Some of it your ISP might be able to help with it, some of it is "SEP." (Somebody Else's Problem) Things I tried when experiencing crashefest play included diagnosing port issues and permissions on my internal network. Make sure you allow the correct ports access by your particular console. (There should be a list for it.) And, if it prefers the dreaded Plug-N-Pray architecture and won't nicely accept manually assigned port permissions? Then, enable PnP assignment and follow the mfrs guidelines. For myself, there were times when assigning port permissions to my XBox worked just fine and times when it was borked as crap and PnP was the only option that allowed it to function correctly. Best wishes for some good results for you, somewhere. I feel your pain. Right now, the only issues I have are longer load times. I feel this is probably something GGG has done to front-end some assets or check against issues before loading an instance. I haven't played in a couple of Leagues so I can't say when that change took place. |
