Turn off blood effects

While I do not object at the idea of a changeable visibility to that red liquid that flows out of things that are not skeletons, I believe there is a monster named Brutus that actually vomits blood as an attack, according to the texts on this site. How would they go about censoring that?

Treating phobias to bring them down to a manageable level can take months or even years, if at all possible.

Getting a phobia treated is the right thing to do.

Changing things in your surroundings to ignore your phobia is ignorant, selfish and dangerous.

I say, change one thing in this game for people with phobias, and more people will show up and complain about THEIR horrible phobias. Soon, people will start complaining about spiders, narrow or wide places and demand fixes for everything from the devs. Do you think they have so much free time to implement all this stuff for SICK people?

I'll tell you what: this isn't your personal wonderland. If something is too though for you, than you are too weak. If you have an illness that won't let you play a certain game, THREAT THE DAMN ILLNESS and STOP PLAYING VIDEO GAMES. The devs are developing a game, not a comfort zone.
This remembers me a conversation I got in game weeks ago with one of the creators of the game (I think it was Rory, not sure now). I told him I got real arachnophobia (no kidding) so it were good to change arachnids in game for let's say unicors or so (hehe I was kidding about the idea, not about the phobia). He told me he got nice news for me, and it were that spiders in next patches will jump a bit :P

Well, I got arachnophobia and it's a mess than almost every videogame got scary spiders, but fortunately I am able to play these games, with "just a bit" of real fear and a lot of discomfort. In some games I need to even stop playing a bit if tones of spiders around (no kidding again). But I can play in the end.

So I think this is a good topic, no need to flame him or telling the guys with hemophobia things like "stop playing". Many games got options for remove blood from them (for children players for example), so if it is possible to put it as an option, I don't see why not. Of course if it's very hard to be programmed, no need to do it, but if it's reasonable, I see it as an improve, it will be just an option.

hey, people do not enjoy having phobias. "changing surroundings" is not something they do because they are selfish.
Think of the game as a blood exposure based therapy.

j/k
Also, there are parents who won't let their children play games with blood and gore, but will allow them games like this if there is no mess, it all depends on where a parent draws the line. But at least an option like this gives more choices.

BAD BDAKIWI!!! I would like for all parents to draw the line and keep their children away from me. Unless they are cool and don't listen to their parents anyway, then they are probably chill to hang out and play games with so no problem there.

I don't want kids too young to make their own decisions playing games with me.

Having disable-able blood paves the way to having enable-able wicked sick gore effects and gibs. Keep this in mind GGG.

With these settings in place enemies could even explode into clouds of flowers and ponies with only a little extra work.

Also, Marc I am disappointed in you, because you posted the funniest response I saw in the thread :D

Another thing to keep in mind, fears of blood aren't really the same thing as fears of spiders. Spiders create real fear, which is manageable and can improve atmosphere. "Fears" of blood are not real fear they are more of a mental trigger that makes one sick, which are not manageable and cannot improve atmosphere.

Imagine what your gaming would be like if you couldn't play games with blood in them. Your imaginations now contain lists of the shittiest games ever made. Do you wish that to be reality for others?

Anytime, I love you too.

But I'm going to have to leave you if you don't get rid of that cat.
