Turn off blood effects

Now I don't mind all the splatter and gore, but I have two online friends who have hemophobia and throw up at the sight of random blood. They won't play certain games because they can't turn blood effects off.

The devs haven't said anything about this but I don't think it's unreasonable.

Hey, there's a Skyrim mod that makes spiders in the game look like teddy bears. Phobias are serious business for those who have them. =0[.]o=

So that explains why in a game I used to play long ago (Dungeon Siege) you could set the blood effects to red, green, or off.
Reckon it sounds like a good settings addition ^_^ Hope I get a beta key before open beta so I can find out what those unidentified items I have are xD

The head-caving thing about it is that one of them is a butcher!! Seems that he's OK with 'dead' blood, but can't deal with splatter and live bleeding and decapitation and stuff.

An OPTIONAL setting (like the OP asked for) will take NOTHING away from the game but allow more people to play it. So far the only troll I can see in this thread is you. >.> Phobias are a serious thing and make life very difficult for those suffering from it. It also has NOTHING to do with "manning up" because a phobia is an unconscious thing. It's not like people are going, "Oh, and just because I fell like it I'll freak out when I see a spider!" Treating phobias to bring them down to a manageable level can take months or even years, if at all possible. Perhaps you should "smart up" and stop being such a narrowminded individual? And btw: +1 to the OP's suggestion. |
