How would you redesign torment?
Spirits are immortal and expire within 15 seconds
The more damage you deal to them the more items they drop at the end of their duration They can't touch magic or white mobs with their green goo anymore but when they posses rares they drop at least 3 times the amount they drop now Need more brains, exile?

I almost never see possessed rares. The tormented mobs explode before they get to one. I suppose I could chase them without attacking, but then I tend to explode from all the packs I'm not engaging. And they tend to get stuck in corners and not run to rares anyway.
How to fix it? Make it actually worthwhile to chase them. Given the obsession with clear speed over everything else, that would require a fairly big reward to get people to slow down and wait for the annoying things, like maybe high sextant, div card, or map drop rates. Make them actually run to something to possess, rather than a random corner. Make them like bosses in terms of immunity to off-screening, so you can actually see them and make a choice to chase or nuke. |
