How would you redesign torment?
The spirit possesses the player, granting bonuses unique to the type of spirit. While it is possessing you the spirit gains power from every kill you make and leeches abilities off the monsters for itself.
At any point you can exorcise the spirit and it will seek out a rare or unique enemy nearby to possess. Failing to find one will within a timer will make it disappear. The newly possessed enemy gets all the power-ups and abilities the spirit leeched but in turn adds more drops to whatever the possessed enemy would drop. This means you can somewhat control how strong the spirit will be when you release it, depending on when you encounter it, what and how much you kill and where you exorcise it. If you're daring, or have a good build, you can soak up a whole map, drop the spirit on the boss and get a nice rain of stuff from it. Or die horribly. EDIT: Come to think of it, as it's called Torment, it might apply a penalty to you while you are possessed instead of a boost, so you will have that to handle while boosting up the spirit. " This is why I wonder why so many people suggest replacing it with Harbinger, which is even slower to do its thing than the ghosts are in possessing. |

" This...actually sounds pretty good. Albeit potentially broken. They'll have to balance it carefully, but it certainly sounds like a more interesting mechanic. |

Tormeneted spirits DO NOT flee from the player, always spawn near a decent amount of monsters and give a bigger increase to quantity/rarity of items dropped.

AI change - no more long movement pause followed by a redirect of velocity.
Spirits now mark all foes in a radius of 25 units. + 5% marking aoe per second after the player contacts the spirit Spirits gain the Einhar beast effect of going immune to dmg when on low life so they have a chance to possess something without dying of accidental damage. |

" LOL so like breach. Yeah that was a A+ league (and last league I got 36 in). But they can't do breach every league. Have to create hype to sell their MTX with new shit. Some are not so good. On balance I'd give this one a C. Git R Dun! Last edited by Aim_Deep#3474 on Jul 14, 2019, 11:54:34 PM

"Bosses are not worth to kill!" "Rares now fatter than bosses, especially in Alvas incursions!" "Spectres! More love for Spectres!" "Occultist now completely ded ascendancy! Henlp her! Help!" Treat it like talisman, rare is already ghosted and in a certain aoe mobs are also ghosted.

Tormented spirits start by haunting a rare mob (i.e. as a random mod spawn). Once you kill that rare mob, the tormented spirit is released from the haunted mob and either runs away, or flies to another rare mob within close proximity.
This alone would make them both interesting as a guaranteed challenge, and far more rewarding as you always get at least one haunt. I would also trim down some of the more useless ghosts so we get a higher density of rewarding / challenging mods on mobs. Souls along a conduit of blood, from one vessel to the next.
