" You are able to identify the boxes befor you open them. Than you see the mods first. A common Mod is "freezes you when activate". You can reroll the mod, or just activate your anti freeze flask befor you open the box. But it is really faster when you just always activate your anti freeze befor you open the box and then run away for the other possible mods like "explode", or "detonate nearby dead corpses". " Cool tip! Thanks. |

" Your flasks are really bad, honestly. First flask in the line is a white non-20% hallowed, that alone sets a pretty clear image. It's good to keep a life flask as melee, but make it a flask for "oh shit" moments, a.k.a. "instant recovery on low life" - the "panicked" flask mod. So get a white flask up to 20% with 4 Glassblowers and then roll "panicked". I suggest Divine flask, but Eternal/Hallowed work as well. Ditch the Hybrid flask, it's worthless for you. Get some defensive flasks to go along your Lion's Roar, Stibnite and Basalt would be the go-to. It's good to roll anti-curse and anti-bleed on Stibnite and Basalt. But since your bleed is now covered, just roll additional armor mod on one, as it will synergize with Lion's Roar +3000 armor bonus. Replace Rotgut with a regular Quicksilver as I don't see you having any constant and frequent Frenzy charge generation for bosses. And you don't really need Onslaught for trash clearing. I use Rotgut myself only because of Terminus Est, as it pretty much instantly gives me max Frenzy charges even on single targets. So roll a Quicksilver with additional movement speed mod "of Adrenaline". As for the gear. I suggest you ditch Starkonja's. You should find a way more useful rare rather easily. Some with beef resists so you can replace those 2 rare jewels with something with life + crit mult. You have bleeding immunity while leeching. You don't need the unique boots. Now looking at your tree. Vitality Void life leech notable is a must have. You must pick it. Stop going to the right for more dps/crit nodes. Double crit wheels (the ones near Resolute Technique and the one to the left of Crimson Dance) are all you need. Here's your passive tree with its bonuses: https://poeplanner.com/ABEAAN8AERQAAGyK8OlGvqdlTb02R36E2WBBY3AR1VeXQzHawXTtBS0uU9NvTP9OKluvKjgUdRjbdPEppXfX459noId2Sn13ohX2YnkABlbJ6doSMFb6fyswfNRSdKAGogHcd-OpbsAaeA218jWS2L3-CvJF_o9N46ZXbztyr0YO-O9YrzbohmCXCNyMkw-I7foY7nrh7zpSDjwUcRuqwQfXfmMX2XyCBxpVn4nQLDsUI-qFj-xxgy68n_xLGJEUTfjr6hj3MpJ93COYb-XPdqzPfvPdaGWPYNZYBWa5HRXsypAAAAAAAA== You have only 150% increased life from it. Which is why you're sitting at only 4k life. Which is a glass cannon build. So of course you're getting one-shot. Also, you have Vaal Pact as a melee life based character. Even though you have Slayer leech, that's still very iffy imo. You basically have to commit to every fight. A bunch of map mods make your life miserable, etc. Even though it brings your life leech to ~12.5% and doubles the leech cap, having no life regen on pure life build isn't the way to go imo. Especially after reading your posts here about QoL with bleeding, and especially when your max life is only 4k. I suggest you switch to this tree: https://poeplanner.com/ABEAAN8AERQAAGy5HRXsivDEgulGypCE2Ud-vTZlTb6nYEFjcBHVV5dDMdrBLlPTb3TtBS1M_04qW6-PYCPTmmrWWAVmDY2Hdmeg459KfXrvQKAhYHTxKaUB3HfjqW5YrzbolwjcjJMP8MQaVZ-J0Cw7FCPq6bkB5xv6Jd-kGRRN_Eu8nxiReWjBBF8_FCDvDlBH5FF_4zH79kiMzz38WGPAGngNtfJvOzWS2L3-CvJFOuH-j03jpldVtZ7N8pxul_e-0iHyQYIH2XxXDdlhrY3Pfnas6hj3MpJ9PT7lz5hv3CMAAAAAAA== You will lose out on dps but you'll be way more tankier while still having enough dps for all you need, especially when I revise your gem choices now. So... gem choices. Remove Punishment entirely. It's terrible and it's a classic "noob trap". Also curses on CwDT setup aren't really a thing anymore. First of all every relevant enemy has curse resistances. But if you really want a CwDT curse, better run Vulnerability. Not sure why you have Pride and Blood&Sand linked with CwDT. If anything you should link them with Enlighten. Now after checking your gem setup, I saw you are running Blood Rage alongside VP, that sounds horrifying to be honest. But, if you switch to my suggested tree you should have no problem with running Blood Rage, it will be a solid boost. You also run Haste aura, ditch it. Get yourself Blood&Sand, Pride, Dread Banner (for impale and more defense layers via less monster accuracy) linked with Enlighten and Flesh&Stone with Maim linked. Link low lvl Immortal Call with a low lvl CwDT. You have CwDT triggering at 20% of your max hp, which is no good. Also golem is useless, ditch it, free space. Once you clean up your gems by removing these gems: one CwDT, Haste, Punishment, Golem, Increased Duration (the totem dies quickly when it matters, so it's a useless support gem). You will then have enough room for Vaal Double Strike. Throw in some melee supports and use it for bossing, it's the single best boss dps boost for melee. Also, I'd put Fortify into your main Cyclone skills instead of MPD or Close Combat. I personally would replace MPD. Right now you have to Leap Slam to get Fortify, and when you're doing that you're not spinning, meaning you're not dealing damage. So even if on paper your DPS is lower with Fortify instead of MPD, in practice it's an amazing QoL, reliable survivability boost and possibly even more DPS when it matters. In the end, do the uber lab ASAP for the amazing 8% crit. It will skyrocket your DPS and improve survivability with the -30% crit mult reduction for nearby enemies which goes so nice with your belt. Let me know what you think of this. Last edited by tinko92#6447 on Jul 9, 2019, 4:59:10 AM

" This is a bit of an exageration here, honestly. The build I am currently running SSF HC has barely more than that atm I think, is sitting at ~5200 life and isn't glassy ( I've run t15 and lvl 81+ delves ). So it depends on many things, but saying that 150% inc life on the tree => glass canon is not true. He is dual wielding and has one ring without any life, no life on the chest, the boots don't have life anymore either and the belt does not have much of it ( but that's a good items ), which makes the build glassy without other layers of defense. So yeah, with such gear ... it's probably a better idea to get more life on the tree I guess, but I would start by changing that ring ASAP. I agree with the rest though. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

You also have ES.
Usually (99%+ of cases) 150% life means it's a glass cannon. In some rare instances it's not. But that requires many defensive layers and usually a way more expensive gear. This is all in melee context, not to be confused with ranged. |

" I can not stress enough how important it is to have Fortify in your Cyclone setup, either as a gem or mod on weapon if you are looking for end-game gear. I also have Fortify in my Leap Slam setup because I jump around a lot and there was not much else I can put in there anyway (Leap Slam+Fortify+Faster Attacks+Endurance on melee stun). I'm playing Cyclone Champion, which struggles with HP as I still only have 5.8k with 180% increased max life on tree + some jewels and gear. I have not died to 1-hit KO in a long while but Legion can get hairy in red maps. Flasks (Lions Roar, Basalt + Stibnite) are important defensive layer that are easily available--replace Roar with normal granite if you have limited budget. Lastly, I would consider use of manually cast Steelskin rather than automated CWDT+Immortal Call setup. Immortal Call (IC) is good if you can generate endurance charges reliably, otherwise, IC will provide only basic mitigation and for a very short duration. I also prefer Steelskin on my character, where I do not generate charges reliably, because it can be used pre-emptively before big hits. |

" Forgot about Steelskin. It's an amazing skill. I use both CwDT+IC and Steelskin. Low lvl CwDT+IC is good even without reliable EC generation, you link it with Inc. Duration with Steelskin in a 4L. Just under 2 seconds of ~25% less phys/fire damage taken, which activates almost on cd for me as I have no block/dodge, just some evasion with Stibnite blind. Looking at my setup now, I swapped CwDT+IC and F&S+Maim when I changed gloves. Need to fix that tonight. Last edited by tinko92#6447 on Jul 9, 2019, 6:39:53 AM

I always said that we need a tooltip that lists the damage we recieved when we die to help us improve the builds without guessing...
