Getting 1-Shot by a random blue mob in Magic Precinct Map (Need help ID'ing damage type)

 I run up to the mob while my cyclone is active and this mob (or groups of them, actually, any on this particular magic map) LOL-stomp me every time. Hovering over the target, I don't know what kind of damage does that. 4k life is not a value preventing you from oneshots very good tbh ....

Level 78 Precinct Map with Magic applied via Orb of Trans.
I've had a lot of random 1-shot deaths in Standard during this league of the kind that I feel shouldn't be happening. It wasn't as bad in past leagues, but this one feels crazy. It's almost as if GGG tweaked something that gave mobs random damage multipliers that are way higher than the map's level (almost at boss damage levels). In retrospect, and to put things in context, I haven't been 1-shotted by any bosses with this build yet. I feel like something is going on with the map mobs. It only takes one damage mod on the map to one shot you if your character is squishy enough.

your not the only one. I randomly die to shit all the time. Horrible fucking mechanics that some maniac dev was high as fuck and was like, how can we troll these kids....
I know... Loot boxes that freeze you solid when you open then so you die. I know... Loot boxes that explode all the corpses. I know... Random Huge fiery explosions that will chase you at 10000 miles an hour and explode after 0.5 s... don't lag friend. don't stop friend. or die friend. I know... Lets put the best loot dropping encounter we can think of.. then to top it off lets add large dudes who throw spears for 50k hp.. before map modifiers... Better dodge that shit and see it coming from off screen pleb. I know.. Lets add random shit you can't kill that will just show up while your trying to loot and throw big yellow balls at your face.. get t-bagged bitch. |

How do you actually build your character to have 4k life as a melee?

After touching the loot box, my character freezes in place and becomes unresponsive, and then I die. I figure out a way to get around this by triggering the boxes and immediately leap slam away. It works about 90% of the time, but there's that 10% that I'm too slow. :( |

Mobs have way more hp than they used to, which means you're more likely to get hit by magic/rare mobs before they keel over; get hit by a pack and you'll easily take more damage than a boss deals per hit. With 4k hp and no fortify you'll die very easily. -60% chaos resistance means that you'll be lucky if you don't get 1shotted by any chaos damage that hits you.
For a better analysis, go to your profile -> privacy settings and put your character tab visible. That way people have more information to work with. |
