Legion is fun. Headhunter being mandatory to run Embles is NOT.
HH is two times more expensive than usual. You can afford even more upgrades for the price of that one item now. Kinda sad.

well it clearly isn't MANDATORY.
faster is better, thus headhunter is the best in slot. but being the best doesn't mean nothing else works, be real now. emblem fight is also not the only content you can do or farm in |

" You need Headhunter or you won't be able to get your investment back at least on 4+ way Emblem fights. Also it's like saying that it doesn't matter that major aspect of the League you won't to access sucks, plenty of other things to do. It makes no sense. |

" Its the only league specific content that differentiates the league from standard though so it'll get extra focus, in my case I want jewels to create builds with but leagues going to be over before I get one because the drop rates dumb :p I mean at some point i'll dump my remaining currency in as many stones as I can afford but eventually it gets to be too late to really realize and enjoy a build. Also trade for piecemeal items sucks everyone knows that |

" Isn't that just a consequence of the free market? People charge for emblems as much as they do, and people are willing to pay that much, because HH enables higher gains from it. If HH didn't exist, but OPItemNumber2 (OPIN2) did, the price of emblems would lower/price of OPIN2 would rise until you just had the same problem: You must have OPIN2 to run Eternal Conflict if you want profit, so OPIN2 is mandatory. OR if OPIN2 is an incredibly common unique that everyone has access to, price of emblems would simply drop to have zero economic profit: gross winnings from emblem fights would equal cost of the emblem, and people would complain that Emblem fights aren't rewarding enough because you can't profit from it. Admittedly you might still find this an improvement over the current situation. Any economics experts out there want to critique this model? I don't see anything too flawed with it. Personally, I would just ignore the accounting profit side of emblem fights and appreciate the intrinsic value of being able to experience the fight itself. If the fight itself gets boring? Then start selling emblems to people who have HH. No skin off my back. Need game info? Check out the Wiki at: https://www.poewiki.net/ Contact support@grindinggear.com for account issues. You would need to run 5 way battle thousands of times just to get what you invested to buy HH (it seems people want to buy HH just because of legion encounters).
Why bother? |

I'm having fun without one. Must be a bug or something.

" Your assumption assumes that there must always exist an item that on its merits alone increases the bossing speed in the emblem fights by 4-5x (what HH is currently doing, even an 1-2x increase is within standard deviation) " If you charge 75c per slot (going rate for fast boi teams) for people seeking xp/challenges you profit on average 1.2-1.5 exa per run, which is 5 minutes. Add 10 minutes overhead from collections, dumping and buying every run and you're still looking at making your headhunter back in less then a week.
