Rare/Magic/White monsters rework
" No. There are many ways to invest into physical defense mechanisms (you don't have to go bananas for it to be meaningful), you are not willing to, period. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading. Last edited by Fruz#6137 on Jun 17, 2019, 1:02:50 PM

" There is a reason people die without slamming into them and trying to tank them. Some of the legion mobs hit EXTREMELY hard , they get buffed by map mods and have a fuckton of hp thanks to the rare monster rework. Normal monsters are fine, legion are fucking not fine. |

The number of threads in this subforum right now that can be summarized by "I'm too bad to build defenses or dodge so the game needs to be easier" is truly disappointing.

" You do realise that some of the people getting nuked by legion mobs have way more defense than any of your meagrely geared characters, right? A whole bunch of streamers got one shot on record in HC, even people with 7-8 kp, basalt, fortify, 7 endu charges etc. But then again, you probably struggle to break out more than 10 enemies per obelisk with your 100k shaper dps, so I guess you won't encounter the scenario of multiple rares stacking damage auras. :) |

" You probably don't break out the legion enemies fast enough, so you only fight a few at one go. |

Hahahah, rare monsters overbuffed so much, so they have nearly same or more health now than map bosses! xD hahahah!
The brightest see of this are incursions and temple mobs emselves. You kill an architect, but rare mob standing there right near arch and havin getting same aoe damage outlive an architects now! ROFL So all works as intended u say? Fk yeeeah! xD |

Hey look I can hit all these grouped up stationary mobs, that don't hit back.
10s later... 'makes a raging forum post' -- If you can't use your mouse and move, don't release all the rares. It's really not a hard concept to understand. |

If you play hc in Poe you absolutely have too much time on you, or just love the super long leveling process. I dont, so i dont really care hows life in there, i imagine its bullshyt on top of bullshyt.
The damage of legion mobs is fine for sc. If my barely over the res cap 30k Eva 6kehp char can survive legion without dying (and its ed/contagion i release the kraken) you should be able to do as well. Just dont treat those mobs as ordinary thrash you faceroll, split and kite rares, dont facetank those huge walls of death that are basically telegraphed more than izaro, dont roll deadly mods on top of rippy ones(multi proj, - max res on top of vulnerability), dont fight multiple mobs in small corridors and you should be able to clear them up to t15 no problem (cant say yet how it is in t16s). The different thing is the super stupid amount of life legion mobs have before you release them. Thrash is thrash, but rares, oh boy.1 rare legion t15 mob has more life than a t15 boss. A general in t15 needs to swallow more damage to be released than a guardian. Talk about insanity. I would understand if after release they would be hard to crack, even twice as much as now, really meaningful, but i cant really say. My supposedly opie 250k ed ball cant release them in 10 seconds and all rewards are there. Talk about bait and switch, you release whole screens of thrash that drops literally nothing.. So opie XD. I probably should just run low level maps and profit, shame i play for fun not work for pixel money. |

" Nah, im not playing ED and breaking everything out and have mediocre movement speed, but i always go for the rares/bosses and have at least one side completely freed and ready to fight. Another thing i noticed is, that since Cyclone is so much different now, it can be played almost like Winter Orb as a source of indirect damage, while youre free to move around. Doesnt have the range nor the damage Worb has/had and it makes you move slower, but this playstyle helps alot. The best thing is just to dodge stuff, which is easy since i find most Legion attacks to be well telegraphed. |

" no there aren't, there are 0 ways to get physical mitigation as a caster or shadow or a ranger on the tree. Even something like 20k armor reduces 5-6k hits to 3-4k. Your best bet is flasks, helmet and minimum endurance charges, but even that is like 30-40%, definitely not enough for the damage they are putting off. Like you probably haven't reached the point to know their damage, but you are actually able to be hit 4-5k damage PER rare enemy, THEY AREN'T TANKABLE on anyone but nebulochs, and even that isn't possible if they got added as elemental. They are hard to avoid with a haste aura/map mod, their range is high and their charge up time is low and happens off screen/cover. I died on my 10k ehp character (7k hp, fortify, reduced damage taken, some endurance charges), PURE 1 shot by 1 rare monster on a 0 damage mod map (maraketh double striker/slamer). THEY ARE NOT BALANCED. Also keep in my what i said in my post, i want them buffed when they are weak and nerfed when they are strong. Their scaling is way too exponential with mods. Them doing 33% more damage by default and 75% reduced their own mod effectiveness is a good start for rares to feel better and standardized. Last edited by ancine#4913 on Jun 18, 2019, 8:55:25 AM
