Question regarding Strength of Blood
|
Hey guys, i am having trouble trying to make this new keystone passive working on my character. I believe according to the wording that it should work with the total recovery per second from life leech passives on the tree.
I have 160% life leech total recovery per second allocated on my tree, i am not noticing any damage reduction from this passive, so i would like to know if someone knows exactly how does it work, or if i am doing something wrong to allow it to work at is best. When i first saw that new keystone, i thought that i could make a char have huge defenses to do the content of the game, so i really want to make it work. The passive says "Recovery from Life Leech is not applied 1% less Damage taken for every 2% Recovery per second from Life Leech". I hope you guys know how to make it work properly. Thanks! Bump!
EDIT: I tested the passive during several maps, didn't notice any "less damage taken" during mapping, in fact, i was always about to die since i lost my leech recovery rate, and it was amazingly slow, so i guess is bugged or i don't know. When i swapped out the passive and i got back my leech, i was much safer... |

Are you sure you actually don't get any damage reduction? Maybe it's just far less effective than you imagine. It seems from your post that you expect to get 80% damage reduction because you, as you say, have 160% life leech total recovery per second allocated on the tree.
This however is not how it works. It works on the % of max life leech per second, the base life leech rate that is modified by your 160% life leech total recovery per second. The base max life leech per second is 20% of max life. So normally you would lose all leech and get a pitiful 10% damage reduction at best. With your increases to leech recovery the max life leech per second gets upgraded to 52% (20% *(100%+160%)). Therefore you get, at best, 26% damage reduction while losing all ability to leech. This is significantly different from your expected 80%. Needless to say this node seems kinda.. well... bad. ...maybe it's good for rf? Last edited by Bardharr#3094 on Jun 14, 2019, 11:37:05 AM

" I actually, tested in every situation i thinked off, i tested also while leeching and taking all the passives that rises up the base max life leech per second, until i reached 65%. So, it would be more than 26% less damage taken. And at that point, it should be noticeable against mobs, and also, consider that you are actually getting rid of your life leech to obtain that less damage taken. As i said, it reached one point that i was dying more with Strength of Blood allocated than trying to survive only from my leech as before without that keystone, so is obvious that something is wrong, since you should be survivng a lot more with Strength of Blood allocated rather than without it. I will make a post in bug forum just to be sure they check it out, since i started to survive a lot more with only my leech and i died much more when i was testing Strength of Blood. " Thanks for your report, so the maximum "Less damage taken" you can achieve is equal to HALF the value of "Maximum total Recovery per second from Life Leech" which you can find in your "Misc" tab in the Character Panel. For example, if that value is 62%, then you will be able to reach up to 31% Less damage taken. However you will only gain this 31% if you're Leeching enough to recover 62% of your Max Life per second, otherwise the damage reduction received will be lower. I hope this helps. | |
" Ok, i will test this when i have time, 31% less damage taken should be noticeable during the gameplay. I will use Vaal Pact to double the maximum leech rate, and i will check in maps without reductions to life recovery. Also, two more questions: Does this "less damage taken" is the same as "reduced damage taken" or it works different? (For example, The Wise Oak gives you reduced damage taken). And, does this "less damage taken" only applies while you are leeching? Thanks a lot for the info! |
