Frustrated with hit registration on PS4

Trying to play this game but am getting very frustrated with the combat. My hits simply do no land a large majority of the time. Additionally, at times when an enemy isn't selected hits don’t land. This isn’t fun at all. Does the Legion patch fix this issue?

Need a new signature, cuz name change. I dunno though. I guess this seems fine. Yeah, this is good.

if you're not a crit build, could always get the "resolute technique" keystone.....if not, boost your accuracy.

In the video clip it looks like you're using default attack, and are just slightly out of range of the mob.

Looks to me like he's in range and I have come across the same issue a couple of times. Friend of mine is dealing with this issue constantly.. so bad, in fact, that he's about to delete his melee character. My character is a caster and when I'm in very close proximity is when I notice the problem... I could see it being a huge issue for a melee based build
I think there's something wonky with the new hit cone mechanic. I've noticed multiple instances when I am in the enemies face that skills seem to miss quite a bit. I've tested with multiple skills and 100% accuracy as well as resolute technique.

Dunno if it's helpful, but I've tested Cleave, Chain Hook, Wild Strike, Molten Strike, Ground Slam & Infernal Blow. They all seem to miss at extreme close range.

Don't get discouraged though. There's always wrinkles that need to be ironed out with each league and GGG is one of the best at expedient fixes.
I played a witch last season so trickster is my first real melee character. I was struggling with the hit box and lining up my attacks too.

I'm not sure if it's just a melee thing or has to do with legion changes. I'm hoping it'll just take practice.

I have also experienced an alarming rate of close range melee attacks that dont do anything. mainly with sweep.
