[3.11] Blade Flurry Impale Champion (RETIRED)

I'm retiring this build as of 3.12. I'm trying to maintain max one/two guides at a time so I can update them faster and better.

3.11 changes:

-> Lost 20% more damage from dual wielding nerf.
-> Enduring cry instead of Ice golem. Call to Arms. Changed a bunch of links.
-> Dropped Brutal Blade and nodes leading upto it for warcry nodes.
-> Dropped dismembering for some block nodes.

Note: Please post all your questions in this thread or come by the stream, don't pm me in game. Make sure your profile is PUBLIC before asking for help so your character is visible. If you have issues with the trees and you're loading them into the poe website, don't. Import them into Path of Building. Please check out the FAQ section before asking questions.

I don't claim my guides to be original or super efficient. I write guides to share characters I'm fond of.

Gameplay on youtube, or if I stream.

=======================================================================

Pros:
Really good single target.
Good clearspeed if you swap in Vaal Reave.

Cons:
Gear dependent. Levelling feels awful.

Introduction
Spoiler

This is a pure phys impale crit champion. Thanks to the buffs to pure phys is 3.7 we're fully phys now. Impale is really good for single target.

I use abyssus because I like seeing BF melting bosses, it is not required. Use any elder rare helm with nearby enemies take inc physical dmg taken for the more defensive route.

Disclaimer: The videos posted for this guide are with legacy abyssus (+100% crit multi) which is around 10% more damage than what's normally available.

Two decent pdps foils.

I don't recommend Paradoxica because it has low attack speed.

Budget option: Ichimonji.

Helmet:
Spoiler

For big boy damage.

BIS - 40% BF damage.

Budget option: Anything with life, res, int.

Chest:

The 3 useful mods for us are:

-> Enemies you Kill Explode, dealing 3% of their Life as Physical Damage
-> Attacks have +(1.1–1.5)% to Critical Strike Chance
-> Socketed Attacks have -15 to Total Mana Cost

Phys explode is an absolute must have in my opinion. The second is upto you. Attacks crit is more damage. Mana cost reduction is quality of life.

Budget option: Any rare chest, Tabula Rasa.

Gloves:
Spoiler

Ignore my gloves. Ideally you want something like this:

Get any life/res gloves with enfeeble on hit as the corruption. Ideally an armour base. These are probably the easiest to get the corruptions on.

BIS - Commandment of Fury. Helps with clearspeed.

Budget option - Anything with life, res.

Boots:
Spoiler

Life, res, movement speed (MS not that important).

Good enchants/corruptions - 16% ats and cast speed if killed recently.

Bonus: Tailwind from hunter boots and/or Elusive from redeemer boots.

Amulet:
Spoiler

Flat phys to attacks, multi, life, int.

Anoint Tenacity

Belt:
Spoiler

Bonus: % max life from hunter belts. You should use Ryslatha's Coil if you can mamage the resists on your other gear.

Rings:
Spoiler

Life, resists, int.

Flat phys to attacks are a bonus.

Pride has some really good Watcher's eye mods. Get one if you can. Preferred mods:

+2 Impale while affected by Pride
12% Chance to deal double damage when affected by Pride.

FAQ:

I'm dying too much, don't have enough damage, can't do T16s deathless.
Spoiler

Check your CDWT gem levels. Check the PoB. The ones linked to CDWT are kept at low levels intentionally so they proc more often.

Are you level 90 (at least)? Do you have 6k EHP? Do you have at least 18/20 gems? Are you following the tree? If not, then do those.

If yes, then make sure your profile is public and let me know, I'll try and take a look. More often than not, it's because your character is lvl 83 with shit gear, improvised passive choices, missing uber lab and 18/0 gems.

Why are Blood and Sand/Flesh and Blood/Pride/Molten Shell low level?
Spoiler

I just didn't have them leveled at the time. You're supposed to level them up completely.

Legacy gear? How dare you?!
Spoiler

Check the introduction section, I've talked about it. It's literally just 10% more multiplier, no qol, nothing else. As of the latest video I only have legacy abyssus and no other legacy items.

No I'm not. They're the current version. Import the trees into pob, not the poe website.

Hey, got a couple of questions. When do you think I should take master of metal? prob thinking conq > worthy foe > metal > first to strike as my progression. also, im tryna fit in impale support gem with the build, what u think i should switch out? thanks

Yeah I'd go the same order too.

About the second part. Pob has been updated with the gems but openarl isn't sure when he'll get around to implementing impale. I'm using a custom jewel to test impale. I'm making big changes to the guide. We're going full phys + impale.

I'll post the changes soon. The tree stays the same except for getting the impale nodes. The auras and flasks change completely.

I'm not 100% sure on the math behind impale but I'm going with what I have.

Why champion over slayer? I heard slayer has better survivability and increased aoe

I don't really have a good answer for this. I made this build when slayer was garbage. It's probably a better choice right now overall. But I'm keeping this as a champion.

Also impale stuff will probably give higher top end dps. Not sure cause pob doesn't support impale.

Hey just curious here, you have allocated Endurance charges but I fail to see what generates these. Is this an error or am I overlooking something minor?

Thanks
